-- the conference is looking for a replacement for the insight.com bowl....but the Independece bowl was not mentioned...Vingle said the BE is looking at the music city, Champs bowl and the Liberty (although he did say the chances of the BE landing that bowl are slim) among others to fill the spot

-- When the dust settles Vingle predicted the BE will have 5 bowl tie ins

Pretty interesting. Would love for the Big East to get the Champs Bowl and Music City Bowl. Get those two bowls and you have to consider it an awesome offseason for the Big East considering all the gloom and doom surrounding the BCS bid and Gator Bowl and even Insight.com bowl to a lesser extent. If the Big East can leave with the Charlotte, Gator/Sun, Champs and Music City Bowl on top of the BCS bowl then Tranghese will become a demi-god among Big East fans you can bet on that!
