beat Univ. Of Miami, Fla???????

west virginia has beat them twice.....syracuse a couple of times, va. tech a couple of times, boston college once......so don't sit there and say miami loss only three times in 5-7 years....

but answer my first question, how many times has louisville beat miami????

that's what i thought....did your university beat any top 25 teams last year other than some boise st.....

and as far as me being upset about the new kids on the block being picked as conference favorites...i know how things are going to go down...Mark my words.....U of L will not win the Big East.......Pitt or Syracuse will win with west virginia in third.....

i just don't think you guys have proved anything.....my gosh...just because yal played miami close...means nothing...you didn't win....

No, we just have something like 47-16 record over the past 5 years and a very good 9-1 record against BCS teams in our last 10 games including wins at Syracuse and a win over the ACC Champs.

BTW the last time we played BC we dropped 50 on them, also we have done something that WVU has a hard time doing and that is actually win a Fiesta Bowl.

You beat them twice in what, 15 attempts? Were they on probation? Did you happen to beat them when ECU beat them? Congrats. UofL will go 1-1 against Miami in this series.

FYI I looked up their record and since 1998 they had a total of 3 losses in BE play. 2 of those losses came at the hands of VPI and the other against SU.

Good Homework L-Yes. You made my point exactly. If you play a team every year for 15 years, you should get a couple of wins at least. Don't compare apples and oranges. We played them once and lost...so what's your point. If we played them fifteen times I think our record against them would be better than yours.

jtwvu87,

You may want a little C-USA advice to help you with your new Cardinal "friends"....

Louisville fans think they are the universe in athletics. Knowing this, we don't entice them with chest thumping. They have very strong feelings for their school and show great support.

Knowing what I know about West Virginia and their fans, I think WVU will be able to match Louisville tit for tat.

Don't bait the Cardinals. Just win, baby, WIN!

04-cheers

Awww Chess, no need to give WVU posters advice about UL posters. Let them go at it. This is entertaining indeed.

And could a UL poster please post those 9 wins and 1 loss against BCS teams. I would like to know that myself.

I counted a win streak of 6 before the Miami game last season unless I'm missing 3... If so please correct me:

1. Duke
2. Florida State University
3. Kentucky
4. Syracuse
5. Kentucky
6. University of North Carolina
7. Miami

In 2002 Kentucky got us 22-17 to start the season and in 2001 we went 11-2 with a loss in Champagne, Illinois to the eventual Big X champ Illini.

In his defense, I believe he misread two victories over Colorado State as BCS victories. That would've pushed it to 9-1.

Syracuse = 4-6 in last 10 games against BCS conference members.

Actually, SU is 4-8 against OOC BCS institutions.

Losses to:

Georgia Tech (2)
Virginia
FSU
Purdue
UNC
Auburn
Tennessee

Wins against:

Notre Dame
UNC
Auburn
Kansas State

See any differences between this list and the Cards' list?

Cheers,
Neil

You lost to a bad UNC program and one of the worst coached programs in the country in Ga Tech twice?

Actually the numbers are still wrong--if it is BCS teams you need to add in in conference BE teams.

Which is why my post specifically said OOC BCS institutions. 03-wink

Well, you got me on that UNC loss, but both Ga Tech losses were to bowl teams and one of those times Ga Tech finished ranked in the Top 25 by the AP.

But you go right ahead thinking beating Duke and Kentucky has prepared your team well for the BE.

It will make the 'upset' wins by the 'old guard' that much sweeter.

Cheers,
Neil
