Who is Pusher a fan of anyway?

He's also passed himself off as a UofL fan and a South Florida fan.

Whoever Pusher is, if he is Orange he talks big for a team that hasn't beaten WVU in over 3 years.

It's easy for an SU fan to talk big about the WVU game this year.

It's not as though you guys have a proven QB with proven receivers. And playing at the dome is always tough, even when its an average Orange team.

The Neers running game will still be good but the OL is also a question mark. And I think even you have to admit that Marshall helped the running game by being a running threat.

Still, WVU's 'D' should be good and we will be adapting to a new system ourselves so I expect a close game. If the game were later in the year, with us at home and more comfortable with the new offense, I'd expect us to win big.

Cheers,
Neil

I'm not sure who will win yet, but I do guarantee one thing, it will be about 200 degrees in the Dome. SU has shied away from playing early September games the past few years for 2 reasons.
Number one, is the State Fair runs through Labor Day weekend. This attracts about 1 million people per year and in the past has been blamed for sparse crowds at the Dome when a game is scheduled that weekend. Number two is the fact that the Carrier Dome is not air conditioned. I can remember going to an early Sept game a few years ago vs North Carolina and everyone was just drenched in sweat. Not a pleasant experience. Sometimes this works in SU's favor though. They get used to practicing in the Dome and the other team obviously doesn't. I remember Tennessee players dropping like flies from leg cramps a few years ago because of the heat and humidity.

-- WVUs O line is one of the strenghts of the offense...3 staters returning and 4th player who was a starter in 2003 but forced to the bench when Tim Brown was awareded a 6th yr of eligability last yr

-- a lot of the indentity of WVUs offense will be decieded by who the QB will be....basically RichRod has to decide between an option QB, a drop back passer and a kid who is kind of a mixture between the two...there is also the possibilty that two QBs will play a lot of minutes so opposing defense's have to prepare for two different forms of the same offense...RichRod was known for doing when he was the OC at Clemson

-- Our defense should be one of best seen by Mountaineer fans in many yrs...the seconday ....despite the loss of Pac Man Jones should be outstanding

-- I would also expect a close game.....WVU is breakng in a new QB and SU is breaking in a new offense

-- Personally...I am hoping SUs kicking game will be as inept as it was last yr 04-cheers

Woodycuse, are you serious? The Carrier Dome was funded by Carrier, a company that makes air conditioners, but isn't air conditioned? I never knew that all these years. What irony!

Carrier Corp provided $$$ for the firstever naming rites of a college stadium for a paltry $2.75M. The Dome was built for about $27M and AC wasn't planned into it. Carrier (IIRC) Corp would've installed it but the University wanted the $$ to pay down some construction costs. Shortsighted, yes but it is way too expensive to retrofit.

No air conditioning is only a factor for the first 1st or 2nd (very rarely) football games every year, so I don't think it's really worth the costs.
