Don't let something like that fool you. The guy's a punk and everybody who's had to deal with him in C-USA knows it. What a guy says means very little when it doesn't match up with what he does. He talks a good game...

Louisville probably had more national TV games last than Marshall has had in the past 5 years. Marshall is not an attractive non-conference game to any neywork....not even that cheesey CSTV that C-USA has a deal with.

i said memphis.  as in the administration and athletic department.

the fans may not give a damn, but after looking at your regular season attendance last year (only sellout of the year against louisville, the rest not even close), the athletic department should.

Somehow I doubt our ath. dept. is losing sleep over UL. We're still playing the
best team CUSA had. And that's Cincy.
Great have fun with all that!
Have fun with those cupcakes at home.
 Have fun with playing UCF, Marshall, ECU, SMU and Rice as respected Conference Peers!!

Cupcakes...
Who said we "respect" them?

Middle Tennessee
Should a Memphis fans be laughing about non-conference cupcakes after losing to La Tech last year????

Some character.
How many times have you IDIOTS been told that banner was flown over the stadium EVERY GAME THAT SEASON!!!!!

Freakin douche bags!

I swear Memphis has the biggest group of inferiorty complex fans in all of the NCAA. Your basketball team is the biggest group of underachievers in the country EVERY YEAR, and your football team is a "huge up and coming program" that has been to 2 BOWL GAMES IN 20 YEARS!!!!....oh yeah....and 20 YEARS SINCE GOING TO A FINAL FOUR!

Scrubs.

Banowsky showed some real class as we were discussing on the Rutgers Rivals board today. He wrote an open letter to all the departing teams thanking them for being a part of CUSA in the first 10 years and wishing them all luck.
Go to the Memphis board and read what they have to say about him. His inability to do his job is noticed by everyone.

I don't think Louisville is being smart in this. I would've met the contract by playing Marshall and another CUSA team then sue CUSA for breach of contract if they didn't followup on the contract agreements. Instead you are buying out teams and leaving units behind and say you'll make up the revenue with extra home games?
We held up our end of the contract by buying out of the contract, which was an option. If they didn't want that to happen it shouldn't have been an option.

Can you imagine UofL actually playing a game at Marshall's court? Doesnt make sense anyways.

Mark, our deal to opt out of the contract with CUSA also covers the football side of things.

We were supposed to play one CUSA team a year for 5 years in football, with 2 or 3 of these games being road games for us, so we are also getting 2-3 home football games back, which will also bring in bucks.

It seems to me as if the cusa commishioner made a mistake here. Letting Marshall play would have helped build their program and, subsequently, the depth of cusa. Now, his decision has angered both Louisville and Marshall. This is not the way you want to welcome a new family member.
