The Bulls and Pitt get some love.

[quote]One college football and recruiting expert's take on the top 25 most dangerous programs in college football 2005 – 2011 (based on future potential):

1. Southern Cal – as expected, Pete is building one of the greatest dynasties in college football history. Weakness - None

2. Notre Dame – ok, it is Notre Dame, if the new coaching staff can change things around, the Irish will once again be “America’s team.

Quote: Pitt has all the tools to dominate recruiting in western PA, western Maryland, and parts of WVU, sorry Mountaineers fans.

From another site, it was an article/write up posted by a recruiting site, I think it was the texas rivals or insiders board.

Im telling you guys, in a couple of years the Big East is going to be a power. With UofL, Pitt, Syracuse, South Florida along with Cincy, UConn and Rutgers this conference will be strong. Just give it some time.

You can't say that, according to some in the C-USA they are the only ones who have potential. I mean just look at Rice, SMU, Houston and UTEP. I mean they were all good about 20-30 years ago. 03-wink

great find, can't say i disagree with usf's writeup, the pitt game was a major dissapointment, hopefully last year was an anomaly with the hurricanes, pressure from espn to change game times, lame duck cusa year, and a qb who the entire fanbase hated. i think you'll all be surprised with our attendance this year, even if we have a lackluster year, we're sure to have a very good year attendance wise. like it says we just need to win and the recruits will come, we had our worst year in our history last year and were still able to produce a top 50 recruiting class .

ND and ECU were way too high, i think syracuse deserves to be on the list, with their new ad and coach and the backing of their alumni like mcnabb, i think they have a great potential to be a power again in football.

"The Bulls games with the University of Memphis and Pitt on the ESPN networks last season were the two lowest watched college football games of all of last season on ESPN, Fox, and TBS, weeknight games involving MAC and WAC and the D-1AA playoffs drew more viewers."

Ouch!!!!!!!!!

Div I-AA and MAC games had more viewers then USF National Football TV Games vs Pitt & Memphis??

Can get any lower then that!

very true, the 11am start times and the fact they were meaningless games didn't help things, but still no excuse. next year will be different, look for the FAMU and UCF to have huge attendance (barring any schedule changes). i hope the espn dollars we got by shifting game times made up for the negative public perception.

I'm sorry, this guy is on crack.

His ECU tirade sunk any credibility he might have had. It didn't surprise me to later read he's a Rival's hack for one of the Texas schools. His opinion is as valuable and informed as anyone on this board including Topcoog and David Kryzniuski.

He is the rivals hack for southern recruiting and covers Texas and the Big 12, there was some talk of this on some of the Longhorn boards, and the article was in its premium content but was posted on the free boards before it was removed and I have seen it on several other boards today, the writers seem to be very knowledgabe about college football and predicted UofL would be a top team by 2005. They are the former leads for countdown to signing day football show.

Predicting Louisville in 2000 would have been fairly easy considering we were about to go to our 3rd straight bowl game and looked to be peaking a top CUSA.

ECU was brought in to be the carolina gorillia that this guy thinks they are. They have been a total bust in CUSA and have 0 titles to show for it. They are currently one of the worst programs in the conference and nation.

I'll bet you ECU goes another 5 years in NCUSA without a football title though their basketball team may make the conference tournament now and again.

There's no Louisville on the new list?!! No WVU? No Alabama, which is expanding it's stadium and coming off probation?

Add to that more than half the ECU rant (how many chapters is that?) is based on the "If they get BCS status" principle, which is unlikely to happen before his next list will come out.

People do rankings as a way of calling attention. Congrats, unknown author, we can all see you have an agenda. If ECU makes such a move, then more power to you and them. I however, will not be wagering a paycheck on it happening so quickly.
