Huggins will be at UC next year, after that is it up in the air. The new news on campus is that the President wants to raise the minimum requirement for students (and all athletes) to a 20 ACT for next year, and to 25 within 5 years. If that happens, UC is done athletically.

Huggins IS  Cincy basketball, and I'm shocked that so many bearcat fans seem to want him gone too. 14 straight NCAA trips.

If he leaves, Huggy will be fine.  I'm not so sure the bearcats will be.

Also, without Huggins, Memphis has a good chance of going 6-0 against Cincy the next few years
Try going 6-0 against USM first. Baby steps...
Hey, if we can find someway to NOT play in Hatties-hell, it would be EASY. That place is like kryptonite to us.

I wouldn't say that UC is done.

The Big East runs at a pretty high academic level.

Rutgers, Pitt, Syracuse, etc... are a pretty competitive group. UC raising student body academics may not have the conclusion you anticipate. UC may be raising academics because the conference may allow UC to be more selective with recruits.

Cincinnati may be wishing to solidify its standing amoung the football schools so when the split happens there are no "second thoughts" about which schools belong academically.
