How many Big East teams play lacrosse?
Is it a sport that the Big East sponsors on an intercollegiate level?

There is no Big East Lacrosse conference.
Syracuse plays and is darn good at it. I don't know about any other schools.

from bigeast.org.... the conference does sponsor a lacrosse league, but only in women's
Looks like only 6 schools are currently in it - Georgetown, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Boston College, and Connecticut. None of the 5 new additions currently sponsor Lacrosse (men's or women's). Not sure where all the men's lacrosse teams play in conference wise, but I think Syracuse won the Nat'l champs last year.

Syracuse has won it 10 times since 1983 and have been to 22 straight Final Fours. This year the streak may end. They are truly are the big dog in college Lax. The Big East doesn't have a lax league for men right now. Syracuse, Rutgers, Georgetown, Notre Dame are top 15 type programs. Villanova, Providence and St Johns are top 40 programs. There is a big difference between the two groups. They need 6 teams to form a league. Syracuse currently controls the steering wheel--much like Notre Dame in football. They are doing well as an independent playing the best schedule possible. If they feel their NCAA playoff status is jeopardized they could make a move to form a Big East Lax league. The others would follow.Lax Power Poll

I was just curious because last night the AD of UC, Bob Goin, indicated that Cincinnati might add intercollegiate lacrosse to its sports portfolio in the future.
