Gino has next year to earn POY,,LOL ,,but it won't
be in the BE if WVA has it their way..
Maybe the remaining BE members decided to render their
opinion of WVA ignoring the bylaws (bolt the conference) with their Big East Award votes?

No way Smith deserved it over Pead. Pead is just a better football player, period. West Virginia won their last few games in spite of Smith's play. He was horrendous in the Pitt and USF games. They won the Pitt game because Pitt's QB sucks and they beat USF because USF is a bunch of street-balling undisciplined clowns.

Congrats to Pead and Wolfe though. Surprised we didnt get more 2nd teamers on defense - like Stew or Bomar.

i think Giordano = the next Wolfe. He's been unappreciated much like Wolfe was last season. While he should have the benefit of increased talent level around him, i don't know if he'll break through like Wolfe did this season. But if he does, we'll have our own Selvie/Pierre Paul combo to reckon with.

Hughes and Wolfe were good enough that you didn't hear his name mentioned as much this year. He is a good player though.

Mills won't be an everyday linemen, especially at DT. That'll go to Camaron Beard/Brandon Mitchell/Roney Lozano.

Agreed. Plus we've got some promising young guys like beard, lozano, west, hannah, mitchell, mouhon, etc to add to the rotation.

I'm a little worried about depth at DT. Or quality depth I should say. Stepp is going to be a player but how are the other guys progressing? I had very high hopes for Beard. He always looked to me like he had great potential.

I think we have a decent young group of DL guys like Lozano, Mitchell, Meador at DT

it would be nice to see Lozano reappear. For most of the season i was unaware of if he even played.

RE: Drew Frey = All Big East First Team...
Last year being so thin we burned Lozano's redshirt. In hindsight that was probably a bad move but we also had Wolfe playing 70-80 snaps a game. It's crazy to think that Lozano will already be a junior next year. Just looking at the participation report on gobearcats.com, he's not listed as having played in any games. I know that isn't always accurate, but was he hurt this year?
