i kinda like reading tops great analysis of whats going to happen. he says his opinion which is what the board is for. i laugh @ what hes saying. his ignorance bout the split is just funny and how he hates hearing bout the split. i think hes a hoop fan and hates the fact that the hoop conference will be a lil suspect when the football schools leaves.

thats not my point....my point is that the split was discussed for three weeks two years ago and discared...the commish said as much last week and said there would not be a split in his view. We have morons on this board who are obsessed with the issue who do not know squat about what is going on in the Big east office. If you can't quote a Big east official who says splits and expansion are 'issues' then the issue is dead. If every A D in the NBE announced there would not be a split Jackson and others would just say that they really didn't mean it and continue to come up with ignorant speculation.

TopCoog, this league cannot survive the state it is at now: 16 BB schools, 8 FB schools. It is just fact that the 8 football schools are not that dumb to destroy their programs by not splitting.
Either the conference will split, or eventually, some teams are just going to start to leave. That's what happened before, and that is what will happen again.
The Big East Conference cannot survive in its current state. And Mike T knows that. He's just won't admit it.

Bull, the 8-8 set up is insurance aganist losing the BCS bid. My point is this...you can call me all the names you want but all this baloney about a split is just that....there is not a shread of evidence to back it up, quite the contrary.

And there is no shred of evidence to say a split will not happen.

Just like the BCS is only going to give the Big East 4-5 Million.

BTW, you are over here more then you are with the C-USA Board.

Maize...it doesn't work that way. The burden of proof is on you. Based on your silly logic I could say that So. Miss is going to join the Pac 10....no proof they are not. No, you guys are childish as hell on this and its ovious after MT's comments you don't know squat. Just stand up and admit it or show me the proof that someone is considering either a split or expansion.

How is the burden of proof on us. I really don't care one way or another and I am not the one on this board constantly talking about this.

The burden of proof was on you with your stupid-(Big East will only get 4-5 Million garbage and you continue to sprew that crap until the Arizona Republic article on the Fiesta Bowl in 2006).

BTW Mike Transghese also stated that Miami wasn't going anywhere when it was very apparent that they were gone to the ACC back in 2003. If you put your faith in Transghese then you are dumber then I thought.

Wrong again dumb***, the reason for no split was to protect the Basketball only schools. This is on the record but I guess you missed that.

How can you write "all this baloney about a split is just that....there is not a shread of evidence to back it up, quite the contrary"...

...when the 6 football schools at the time (including BC) voted for a split 6-0 in 2003 and wrote in the July meeting notes that "we truly believe a split is inevitable and in the best interests of all parties"...

Reasonable logic would dictate that the conference challenges causing them to vote in that manner and make that (documented) statement are still intact- they just determined a short term hybrid solution would be the best tranistion plan. However, even IF you disagree with that assumption and believe all of the issues are magically forgotten, you can't state that there is no evidence regarding a potential/ likely split.

Obviously, MT (and the BE coaches and ADs for that matter) are going to state that the future is bright, everybody's committed, etc. Of course they will not tip their hand about the future as for TV contract purposes etc. there is no benefit to stating anything to the contrary.
