2005 Big East Football National TV Schedule

12 nationally televised games...
5 Saturday games
3 Friday night games
2 Thursday day/night games (one on Turkey Day)
2 Wednesday night games

September

3 Saturday Notre Dame at Pitt (ABC)
WVU at Syracuse (ABC) (or September 4th)

17 Saturday Oregon State at Louisville (ABC)

30 Friday Pitt at Rutgers (ESPN or ESPN2)

October

7 Friday Syracuse at Connecticut (ESPN2)

November

2 Wednesday Connecticut at West Virginia (ESPN2)

3 Thursday Pitt at Louisville (ESPN)

9 Wednesday West Virginia at Cincinnati (ESPN2)

11 Friday Rutgers at Louisville (ESPN or ESPN2)

19 Saturday Syracuse at Notre Dame (NBC)

24 Thursday Pittsburgh at West Virginia (ESPN)

December

3 Saturday Louisville at Connecticut (ESPN)

3 Friday night games is not cool. and Rutgers has to play two of them. Somebody in Big East headquarters must hate Rutgers.

I'm glad Cincy only has to play one non-Saturday game.

I'm not a big fan of Friday night games but they beat Tues and Wed night games. I enjoy watching Thursday night Football but all these weekday games kill the out of town draw to the game. I guess with Friday, you would only have to miss one day of work.

Also, the National games are far from done: More will be added. Syracuse is playing at FSU and hosting UVA. I suspect both of these games will be on ABC or ESPN. If a team gets hot later in the season--they became an obvious candidate for extra games. Bottomline: If you are making travel plans--give yourself the most flexibility you can. Life in the Big East means gametime can be anytime from Noon to 8pm Eastern Time.

-- There will be more TV games announced...WVU/louisville, Louisville/Su will be on somewhere

-- As for Rutgers and friday games....they are probably desperate for any TV coverage at all...they will take what they can get

You will. I expect 3 or 4 of your games will be the BE TV game of the week. You probably will get one or two ESPN/2/U slots added as the season progresses. Relax-you need to buildup your national cachet--your team falls short right now compared to the big 4.

Certainly Louisville and SU. I had heard that the matchup on that weekend was specifically at the request of ABC/ESPN.

Is is guaranteed that Oregon State-Louisville will be on ABC? If so that would be out first game on ABC since 1996 when we played Penn St.

I also I expect UofL-West Virginia to be picked up on ABC.

-- I think a lot of people on the West Virginia side expect that as well
