This is something all BE fans already knew, but rest of the nation thinks the Eagles are somehow a #3 rated team because of their record. What most people did not know is BC had the easiest schedule of all teams so far in the BE. PITT exposed them for what they are, a decent team thats nowhere close to the top teams of the BE. If you have to rank the BE teams in the order of how good they are, here is my list:
1. UCONN - UCONN is on the roll and they are playing as good as anyone in the country. Marcus Williams might be the best PG in the country no one heard of. I put him in the same league as Chris Paul of Wake. By this time next year, people will know this kid.
2. Cuse - because Warrick and GMAC are good combo. Although GMAC is not playing so well lately. I dont think they will win in CT this SAT.
3. NOVA - Because they have some of the best guards in the country no one heard of. Inside is decent with Jason Fraser but their guards are awesome.
4. PItt - because their defense can shut anyone down. The way to beat this team is to have outside threat at the 3 point line.
5. BC - BC is at best 5th team in the BE. They got good forwards in Dudley and Smith, but rest is pretty average. Lack of 3 point shooting will kill them in the NCAA. I would be surprised if BC can make it past sweet 16.

Wow, a Marshall fan ripping Pitt.
Marshall is 5-20 this year. Talk about sucking.

#24 ranked Pitt, who just blew out the #5 team in the nation in their building, sucks? Ok.

Sorry dude, but mentioning Marcus Williams in the same sentence as Chris Paul is an insult to Paul. No one in the country is at Pauls level. Williams is a great point guard, but Paul is on a different level than everyone else.

-- I'm not sure I wouldn't put ND in at #5....they did beat BC this year....speaking of the Eagles...I'm shocked that the bball attendance is so low....it doesn't matter how good they are in football or hoops..it seems the people in Boston just don't seem to care about the Eagles
Quote: Pitt sucks
-- Pitt is very good...they just have trouble defending against perimeter teams...the Pitt squad was made to play the physical inside the paint "D"...and 3 point shooting teams like ND or WVU are going to give the Panthers problems

Well if you think Marcus Williams is not as good as Chris Paul you obviously have not seen him play. Remember Khalid El-Amin from UCONN? Or Kevin Ollie? Put it this way, I would take Marcus over both of them. Watch him play sometimes. Marcus is not flashy, but his game reminds of Jason Kidd. He is a great, great passer who is leading the nation in assists per game right now. You dont get that unless you are good. Just wait until the NCAA tournament and you will see what I mean.

I think most the nation is aware BC had an easier BEast schedule. You overlook it did actually take them a while to climb to the top of the rankings.
The SEC being down and ACC upsets.
Kentucky for dayam sure is not a #1 seed. Who'd they beat? Just Louisville and Bama -- both games won in desperation shooting 3's...
Kentucky plays like #3
BC plays like a #5
Seedings are going to be shuffled after some tourneys

<a href='http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/bigeast/2005-03-02-uconn-emerges_x.htm' target='_blank'>Great article on Marcus Williams and UCONN</a>
Steve Lavin last night mentioned for the first time that UCONN should be considered for the #1 seed. If we win out and win the Big East tournament, I dont see why not. Our 6 losses are against us but they were at early in the season. I have watched a lot of basketball lately and I dont fear any team in the country except maybe UNC. UNC has enough talent and experience to be scary. Other than that, UCONN matches up against any team in the nation. There is no team with a front court like ours.
BC deserves a #4 seed. They are overrated just like they always been. At best, they are a mid of the pack BE team now or in the past.
