What fantasy land do live in? UCF hasn't even played 10 seasons of D1 yet. Go ahead, make something else up....

Oh, and your kidding yourself if you think you woulda gone bowling w/o your boy, D. I've seen you play. Like I said, enjoy it while it lasts; i mean sincerely mean that

Agreed USF's vote is not a lock; in fact, if you fail to sweep us on the gridiron, I fully don't expect your vote. Just like you opted to play 1-AA teams for years, even though consistently UCF offered to rearrange it's OWN schedule to play _in_ Tampa. Your own local paper mocked you for that.

With all of the money UCF's administration is pouring into it's program, with everything they're building (go take a look for yourself), and with their rising athletic budget (FWIW, higher than yours), if and when UCF finds even the tiniest bit of onfield success, your vote ain't gonna matter.

Read the papers. Do some research. You are NO West Virginia.

If the BCS continues to change the rules towards better non-BCS National Championship access, then I actually hope UCF stays in CUSA. The BEast in generally is too far from O-town and it's bad for the UCF fans who actually travel. I'd personally just like to annually see them locally (I live in and attend Louisville) play against either UL and UC.

Who?? DeAngelo? He was hurt for the last 3 games on the 2003 season and the bowl game. We went 3-1 in those games.

As a freshmen at UCF, Daunte Culpepper was my "sweet mate" (our dorm rooms had the same entry), so in football I'm more of a UCF fan.

In basketball and everything else, though, all Louisville. To keep things interesting my roommate's a *********** Kentucky alum :saber:

Um.... De'Angelo didn't play in only your very last regular season game, and you LOST that game in your own house to South Florida.

My bad, I forgot that he played in the Cincy game before getting hurt. We were losing when he went out and came back in that game.

The loss to South Florida was because we already had our bowl bid and didn't really come out with any fire.

we out gained usf 4 to 1 in yardage that day. 6 interceptions and a kick-off return for a usf touchdown and they win by 5 points. usf had the worst offense i saw in 2003. not much better in 2004

Memphis would probably take a football only invitation at this point with the understanding
we go all sports in the event of a BE split.ECU really had it going in the mid '90s and brought
a huge crowd(25-30k) to the Liberty Bowl against Stanford, they would be a nice addition but
as it stands today Memphis brings more to the table.

Thanks

BTW, I really enjoyed my visit to see Cuse play UCF in Orlando a few seasons ago. The Citrus Bowl had some nice tailgating areas. I was in Lot B near a small lake. Our Cuse group tethered about 30 Orange/Blue Balloons and floated them 300' over the lot with fishing line. It was pretty cool as the line was nearly invisible and several drunk UCF fans couldn't figure out where they were anchored to cut them loose.

Good summary article talking about UCF's rise and fall within the Big East expansion scenario. It also has both the May and Oct minutes linked on the right side of the article. Worth bookmarking this one.

They are meeting about how to schedule for the future, not about withdrawing from the Big East.

UCF Cardinals, Baylor and Eastern Michigan backed out on us, forcing us to play 1AA teams. So I don't know where you are coming up with that. And you get to play us 2 years in a row, so I dont' know why you're whining.

I'm not whining. I'm looking forward to attending both UL's and UCF's games vs USF this year. Should be fun....

Just don't play ignorant. If it clucks...

Here's one of DOZENS of articles referring to UCF again attempting to schedule what should be a natural rivalry game. UCF went out of their way to accomodate you, offering to play at _your_ house and (due to joining the MAC) they also offered you a previously scheduled game vs Syracuse. Not to mention K-State offered you a game.

Your administration never even so much as returned a call, and instead opted to schedule TWO I-AA games: Nicholls State and Charleston Southern. And for a much smaller payday.

And this paper is based out of the Tampa area, not Orlando:

UCF, K-State want USF in 2003
By PETE YOUNG, Times Staff Writer
St. Petersburg Times
published February 18, 2003

It seemed like a problem when South Florida recently was dropped from the 2003 football schedule by Baylor and Eastern Michigan. However, it has opened up more interesting, and lucrative, possibilities.

At least two schools, Kansas State and Central Florida, are awaiting word from USF about proposed games this fall.

KSU associate athletic director Jim Epps said he spoke with USF athletic director Lee Roy Selmon and coach Jim Leavitt (a former KSU co-defensive coordinator) last week about a Sept. 20 game in Manhattan, Kan. Monday he left messages for both.

"I just put calls in to them to gauge the pulse," Epps said. "What we talked about was a one-shot deal. Based on my discussions I'm cautiously optimistic we can make it happen. They want to mull it over."

UCF said it proposed an annual home-and-home series with USF beginning Sept. 6 at Raymond James Stadium, as well as letting the Bulls replace the Knights for a Sept. 20 game at Syracuse. UCF assistant AD John Marini said the Knights have not heard back.

"I haven't talked with Central Florida, so I don't know about that," Selmon said of the UCF proposal. "I've followed it in the papers. I'm pretty sure we'll have contact with UCF (this week).

"We'll follow up with (Kansas State) and with everyone. I know it's going to work out, it's just a matter of when and with whom. We've got to look at what it means for our entire schedule."

The Bulls have eight Conference USA games plus an Aug. 30 game at Alabama scheduled, leaving room for three. USF likely would receive a much greater financial guarantee from Syracuse or Kansas State than the $75,000 it would have gotten from the trip to Eastern Michigan. Also, the gate for a USF-UCF game likely would far supersede what Baylor would have drawn.

That was one heck of a frustrating loss! An amazing comeback. Just pounded it afer the half. What's that kid's name again who ran it down our throats ... he ever go pro?
