Virginia Tech Got Hosed
There was no way that Va Tech didn't get a touchdown in OT tonight, but the referee took it away from them and Michigan ended up kicking a field goal to win the game. It was a sad sad sad turn of events.

But hey - on the bright side - Rick Santorum won in Iowa and will go on to defeat Romney, and of course Obama. The liberal media will try to crucify him the way they did Sarah Palin in 2008, but he will succeed.

Bah. Politics. There is no one I want to vote for this coming election, and the closest are Ron Paul and (formerly) Herman Cain.

It was called a TD on the field. There was not enough evidence to overturn that call. It was too close to call. It should have been a TD.

Holy crap! Santorum won?

He blew his load in Iowa, I think he's lived there for months. Romney will no doubt be the nominee . . . I'm not excited about it, but I'll hold my nose and vote for him if he's the candidate.

Agreed. Bad time for the VT kicker to pull an Alabama in OT.

I'd have to see the play to form my own opinion.

But I hate to talk politics on a general sports board unless its dealing w/ Congress overstepping its bounds w/ the BCS system. But I just don't get this infatuation with Santorum. He won't even win the Primary here in his home state of PA. Come on. He's not even as good as a candidate Huckabee was, and we know his outcome.

Who cares?
It's Virginia Tech, they deserve whatever bad that happens to them.
Besides they have to make sure The Big Ten wins at least one BCS bowl game. The folks with common sense were beginning to laugh and point at them. ESPN can more easily cover for The ACC losing another BCS game than they can The Big Ten.
Remember this is the game everyone wanted to see.

Dude do you really think the "BIG EAST" as in the northeastern U.S. is the best place to post conservative politics?

Sarah Palin took seven years to complete a four year degree in communications (her only degree). McCain graduated in the bottom 5 percent of his class. Obama graduated from Harvard and Columbia-with honors. And of course Biden got his law degree from SYR.

So yea the "liberal" media painted the ticket as a bunch of dummies in comparison. Go Figure.

VT got hosed but even I don't like VT. Gonna be a rough life in the ACC.

Seriously you all need to take the politics somewhere else. It has no place on a sports message board.

No disrespect to your opinion, but Dick Cheney made John Edwards sound like he was dropped on his head in 2004 and Cheney flunked out of the same College Bush holds a degree in anthropology from. Bill Gates dropped out of college, how many computer science majors, do you see ever matching his contributions?
A degree does not make you superior, there is only one true university and that is the mind.
Everything else is but posturing and rhetoric.

There are people who aren't even your age, who no matter their level of education, will always be smarter than you.
That is the reality you live in. Some people are gifted with great intelligence, some people are not. That is an in-born trait. I don't believe in fluid IQ. Only the memorization of certain materials. A degree is not a measure of how smart you are, it's simply a sign that you're committed to going through the motions, needed to achieve a certain goal for yourself.

I've met complete idiots as a grad student, some of whom work for the EPA and are profs, that have told me things that are factually incorrect.
In fact, I'll bet you can probably think of a certain faculty member at your university, who fits that description. Elitism has no place. Be proud, but don't be pompous.

VT lost because even though they dominated Michigan most of the game, they squandered most of their many opportunities, primarily via penalties and turnovers, while Michigan made the most of their far fewer opportunities to score touchdowns.

If Romney wins the Republican Party nomination, I will support him. I hope you will do the same if a conservative wins.
