for anyone that watches sports of all sorts youd no what Im talking about. He is supposed to be Xaviers team analysist, when he doesnt know anything. He repeatedly said Finn was their senior PG, when he is a junior. He said he guarentees the new big east will a top 3 conference, "he guarentees it", what a bold prediction. He said that Bob Huggins made a mistake by not making Chadd Moore their main PG from the start, when he didnt even know that he has back problems and cant be in that position. He always makes mistakes and says false statements. This makes Terry Nelson look so much better, especially considering UKs analysist on the show used to play at Vanderbilt.

I know exactly what you mean, Jarr. I kept yelling at the TV last night with some of his idiotic, uninformed statements. Did you catch his line about, how Huggs has to step up his recruiting in the Big East. He said that Huggs can't recruit Texas kids anymore because that won't work in the Big East. He said that Kenyon Martin worked out ok, but other than that, Texas kids just won't cut it in the Big East. WTF? What does he have against that state? Why make a blanket statement like that. It just makes you sound ignorant. You go after the best players, and if they happen to come from Texas, what does it matter? Plus, he seems to have a connection with kids from that state. So, what's the big deal. Maxiell is from the state of Texas, he seems to have worked out ok for UC. Also, some caller said that UC hasn't had a very good point guard since Van Exel. He said that Logan was alright, but other than that... Excuse me, but Steve Logan was a first team all American as a senior. I'd say that's better than "alright" That's freaking outstanding, especially considering how much he got better from his freshman year. What a joke that show had turned into. I don't think I'll watch it again after what I saw last night. Popo is a decent host, and it's good to hear Terry Nelson, and even Scott Draud (the UK guy) is ok, but Lee and those callers turn me off to that show.

I think that Scott What’s-his-name is just as big an idiot as Lee. Everything that guy says has to be in the context of some SEC team since he is clueless about any other programs. I don't even know why they have him come on anyway - I mean he is supposed to represent UK but he sure didn't play there. I guess by the fact that Vandy got hammered twice a year for his four years there makes him an expert on Kentucky. I do like to hear Terry Nelson talk though, he frequently has great insight and knowledge of both the issues and the players...

I think the one problem with the show is they have 3 guys for each team, but they cant really go outside of their teams. It would be better to have people who know more than just one team, so there could be some debating.

ralph lee was posing for espn at the xu game as he was sitting behind the espn crew....he looked ridiculous and even at one point put up a hand sign...you would think popo could find a better xu analyst for his show...but local sports for the most part is a joke anymore

oh my god!! he said this on the air?? i just got done telling someone that i rarely read sports columns or listen to commentators. people like this are a big reason why. also, texas is the best state for high school basketball. out of the top 100 recruits, i can't remember the last time at least twenty of them weren't from texas.

here are a few other bold predictions i've heard:

-the #16 seeds are really going to struggle against teams like illinois and north carolina in the first round this year. (espn)

-john wooden could very possibly be one of the fifteen best college basketball coaches of all time. (espn)

-gonzaga is probably one of the better teams in the west coast conference. (fox sports)

-if clemson could win about 25 games a year, they'd be a much better team. (fox sports)

-if he were to hit all his freethrows, it would really help his percentage. (bill walton)

-if lebron james and sebastian telfair had come here, we'd be a much better team (louisville announcer)

-so and so (forget the name) has just torn his acl. i believe he's out for the rest of the game. (espn)

i can't imagine what the other people doing the games with them must think when they spout off some of their words of wisdom. for that matter what does the editor of the newspaper think when he reads some of these garbage articles?? a better question is why the hell does he/she print them??

Wasn't Okafur recruited by UConn out of Texas? They had another kid at UConn awhile back, Jake Voskul ,that was also from Texas if I'm not mistaken. I believe they worked out okay in the Big East.

Yup, Okafor is from Houston, Texas. So, they won a national championship in I believe '99 with Voskuhl, and won it last year with Okafor. They are also both in the NBA right now. Boy, it's really easy to make Ralph Lee look like an idiot isn't it? Maybe for our pinned thread, we should make it "dumb things Ralph Lee says" and add a few things every week during the basketball season when he's on Sports of All Sorts. That'd be loads of fun.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that ncaabbs.com can handle the amount of disk storage that would be required.
