24.

That's how many games UC has played so far this season (not counting the heart-pounding pre-season tilts with NKU and Southern Indiana).

I've seen a couple comments lately here that talk about the need to sit back and enjoy the ride -- to just have fun watching this season unfold for the Bearcats. I think that's good advice.

I've described this team -- no, this program -- as a soap opera ... certainly few programs put themselves and their fans through the wringer like this one does. But for the purposes of this posting, we're more like "24," with ups and downs and unexpected twists of fate. Hey, some teams are boring!

But Bob Huggins is not Jack Bauer. While his team may occasionally melt down, no nuclear power plants are in danger of doing so. Life as we know it does not hang in the balance. Instead, we have an intrepid bunch of Bearcats, some only 20 or so, trying to find their way through a gauntlet of challenges for their maturation and our amusement.

Fortunately, we get more than 24 episodes -- how many is to be determined. But as some have said, the joy is in vicariously making the journey with them. They're good guys. Let's hope they beat all the"bad guys." And let's keep it all in perspective.

Nice analogy.

Maybe we need to use some of the CTU interrogation methods (like the high pitched noises via earphones while blindfolded method) on some of our players to straighten them out. :)

I realize I mis-titled this thread and, judging by the low view-count, folks think it's some off-topic pimping of the show. My bad.

Then again, unless you watch the show, you'd probably miss the point. Well, maybe not...
