JOINT STATEMENT FROM MARSHALL UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC DIRECTOR BOB MARCUM AND WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC DIRECTOR ED PASTILONG:

“Both schools worked hard to adjust their schedules to play in 2005. We are both disappointed that it did not work out. We are in agreement to work together later this spring to find future dates.

Well at least the two sides are talking Green Bison...that is progress....the 12th game in the 2006 schedule for WVU is either going to be VT in DC or Marshall in motown....unforuntatly our hopes of Penn St coming back on the schedule seem to be dashed again

Here's the 2006 OOC schedules for MU and WVU

WVU
Maryland
Buffalo
@ East Carolina
@ Mississippi State

Marshall
@ Kansas State
@ Tennessee

I have a feeling you all will drop Buffalo for us. That way you can also have your VPI game, you'll end up with a much stronger SOS that way.

-- Its possible...but I don't know if WVU would do that since the Buffalo game is a D1 opponet that the Mountaineers don't have to provide a return game...a 1 for 0 is a rarity in D1a football today

-- I would be all for that though....a non conference slate of East Carolina, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Marshall and Mississppi State....that would be awesome 04-rock

Jackson,

Maybe one of those games will be a conference game for you. And I am not talking about Maryland, Marshall, Va Tech, or MSU.
