Geez. Talk about a momentum killer. And more than that. More than 1 team on the bubble has been left out before due to what are considered Really Bad Losses (Teams over 200 in the RPI). Marshall came in at 218 tonight.

Their only previous wins were over 5-9 ETSU and 7-8 High Point. Talk about laying a giant egg!

I listened to the rest of the game on the internet, wow, ugly. It's a rivarly game though, so things happen. But not a 2-10 squad, even if it is on a neutral court. West Virginia better get a couple of scalps in the Big East and avoid another bad loss or they will lose their at-large NCAA bid. Right now I would think West Virginia is in with relative certainty as a #10 seed. But losing to a 2-10 squad and getting blown out by an average squad are absolute killers come Selection Sunday.

Don't feel too bad, I think WVUs is still in Raleigh. We've dropped 4 of the last 5. 3 were blowouts.

It's cliche, but very true: Records don't matter in rivalry games.

Agreed.

Exibit A: Cincinnati vs Xavier in the Crosstown Shootout every year.
