What's wrong in Norman?? First De'Angelo Alexander leaves for Charlotte, then Foust to unknown destination, and now vegabond Larry Turner leaves. Mohammed Abukar to SDSU, Marcus White to Purdue, Regis Koundjia etc.. etc.. I've never seen so much turnover midseason in college hoops, what gives?
cheers
Psstt hey Larry, we need another big man

I dont know, it is a little crazy, but I know Regis wasn't happy at LSU. He's friends with souls and i actually talked to him the other day on the phone... he's a cool guy.

I was thinking about you and Souley as I read an article about Regis today. I had completely forgotten that he was from the C.A.R. but when I saw that I wanted to post and tell you to get Souley to talk him into checking UC out, with the coaches permission of course.

My take is this: Some of these coaches are signing so much talent that many players they sign don't get enough playing time. Teams like LSU are loaded with talent. Same with Kentucky. Koundja is a pretty good player sitting on the bench. He could start for many GOOD division I teams and obviously he knows it. With Bass and Glen Davis playing in front of him.........he doesn't see much playing time ahead, not to mention how good the other recruits coming in are going to be. I don't blame him. If you love the game...........it's more fun being "da man" on a decent team than being "an afterthought" on a good team. Plus, there are many good teams out there that could use Koundja.
I just hope UC lands one of them. With Max gone next year and Bright slotted to be more of a guard/SF eventually........and Hicks being a senior next year, plus the transfer sitting out next season..........they would walk right into a PF position if that's their position.

I was joking with him on the phone that he should come here, and he seems almost scared of bob or something. I know souley would love to have him here though, cuz they're pretty close. They played on the national team for C.A. R, and Regis also played with souley on the natl championship team at Laurinburg. He's been to campus before; he was here visiting last year over spring break cuz he knows souley and sato. Souley speaks very highly of his playing ability, so I agree that it'd be cool if he came here. If I talk to him again, maybe I will mention something.

these days, Kids wanna be stars right away and dont even plan on being in school four years. So if they arent playing, they split.
Man when I was growing up, we dreamed about playing in the NBA and being like Jordan, marrying the prettiest actress or singer of the day. I was talking to some kids the other day and they were asking each other what shoe company they will sign with when they get to the pros

Thats one reason. Often times the coach is not the person they expected they would be.

that Center that XU got from NC State is a project. He has stats of just over 1 point a game and couldnt' get any minutes at NC State. Duke's women's basketball coach is his step-mom and evidently, Duke had no interest in the guy either.

Kentucky has another one of those players that is not on scholarship at that university but he is a Walk-on that plays a lot of minutes for them...RAVI MOSS. Probably another kid that his parent makes diddly squat but can afford to send him to UK. Kentucky is always having walk-ons that are heavily recruited and they pay their own tuition, room and board....YEAH RIGHTTTT...haha

From the enquirer, yesterday.
"It's likely he will keep that status next season as well, because Simons' stepmother, Gail Goestenkors, is the women's basketball coach at Duke, which allows Simons to receive tuition assistance to attend another private school."
Strange, isn't it!

^Actually, that is true... I have a friend whose mom works at a local school, and there was a list of schools that she could basically go to for free. It's a loophole, yes, but it is 100% legal.

A Friend of mine's Mom worked at XU and he could have gone to Villanova and some other private schools free.
