RE: OT: The Walking Dead
When they were all standing around the farmhouse living room discussing the fate of the prisoner, I thought to myself, 'there are way too many characters. About time to start killing some of them off.' Didn't think it would be Dale though.

I hate that they did that to Dale. He was the moral compass of the group... really liked his character...

Another great contribution by Tdog, who had his first line in like 5 weeks. Only one line though- "What do we do with the body?" Which was a great question because with the miles of open farmland and the dozens of bodies they'd already disposed of, I'm sure they were all wondering. Some lady I'd never even seen before had a line at the meeting, but not Tdog

At least Tdog is still around. Usually the black guy gets snuffed out fairly quickly.

There was a black guy at the meeting? Honestly, I didn't notice.

Yeah, gotta say after some early promise that character went NOWHERE, imo.

He just whined a lot in the last several episodes.

Last night was the first time I was truly disappointed in the show. Dale's character was never as badass or complex on the TV show as it was in the novels. Plus, we never got the cannibals eating his zombie leg.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
Was told by a relative that they ran low on money for filming this year and that practically the whole year will be at the farm/ranch. Guess that is true since only two new episodes left for this year, I believe.

Disliked Dale a lot earlier, but kind of got used to his "other opinions" on things recently. Kind of tolerated him, since it seemed not a lot was going on at times, but he did grate on the nerves.

Killing off Dale when they did makes a lot of sense. He just poured his moral heart out. He was disgusted with the group and himself for not being able to sway them. He walked off alone instead of fighting till the end to sway them. Minutes before his demise the decision was made to hold the prisoner. And with Shane brewing an insurrection, Dale would have been needed even more as his antagonist. The one guy who was always watching Shane is now out of the way and Shane is unchecked to put his plan into motion.

The money thing makes sense. They can't film in cities too much because you would expect to have a denser zombie population. I don't think we've seen a group bigger than 6-7 since the barn opened up. And only a few individuals are done really well, makeupwise.

Funny thing is people who like zombie movies are used to B-movie makeup and wide angle shots that don't focus on them. No reason they can't bring more of them out with less props and shoot farther out. We don't need a closeup of 1000 zombies to convey the idea that the **** has hit the proverbial fan.

I think that next season is going to be dedicated towards Shane's rebellion and how it affects defending the farm. Those boys are going to come through and with Shane being f'd up in the head it's going to be a real power struggle to determine who's leading the defense.

Dont think so. AMC basically let the cat out of the bag last week with their promo for the Blu-Ray Season 2 DVD. They talked about the special features including commentary on Shane's last episode.

Last night's episode was set up to teach Carl to shoot when he has too, and not hesitate. Gonna end in a bad way for someone IMO.

Well I guess I'll amend that to say that I think next season will be all about defending the farm and them eventually having to leave.

They just hired David Morrissey to be The Governor. If they are hiring an actor of that acclaim to play him I'm guessing that he is in almost all of the season. WTS, they still need to go to the prison.

I was hoping that Michonne would be here by now.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
Makes you wonder if Shane will go out like Dale with someone having to put him down. Would he tell them to go ahead and do it, or would he ask them to not shoot him. Could be an interesting scene. Especially if Carl is the only one available to have to pull the trigger.
