Terry Holland is sure shaking things up at ECU....I thought Thompson should at least have been given another year. Has anyone heard who is in line for the job.....a lot of message boards are talking about Jim Donovan (spelling?).....the former Georgia coach...I think that would be a very solid hire for a program that as one eye aimed at the BE

Jim Donnan? I couldnt really tell you who we might be looking at but it better sure be a name coach. No more of this hiring assistants to use us as a stepping stone to be a head coach somewhere else. By the way we won our first game of the basketball season against Pepperdine who was picked to win the WCC and was recieving votes. We won 80-58! Not to shabby for a team that allegedly doesnt have a basketball program.

Wow, that's a big win! Outside of the occasional year, Pepperdine usually has a strong program in the WCC and usually rule the roost along with Gonzaga in that conference. Very strong win!

For the record no one really knows who TH is looking at. I truly hope he already has someone lined up or at least has some idea of who he wants and has already contacted him. The sooner the better. Thanks Cats Claw for those words. To tell you the truth alot of us pirate fans didnt really know what to think about our team this year. Every year we want to succeed just like everyone else. This year is no different but we just have so many new players and only one senior we didnt know what to expect. This game the new guys showed up and dominated Pepperdine's Seniors. Our freshman outscored their seniors. We hit 53% of our 3's, out rebounded a bigger team without our 2 centers, held them to 19 points the 2nd half and they only shot 30% for the whole game. I believe its a great win to start off this season, but as we know the season is far from over and its a marathon not a sprint. Its just one game so i hope we can keep it up and have a successful year. Cant wait to see the bearcats come to Minges. Should be a good one.
