Somebody on here said that Louisville can possibly count towards the Big East's #12 rule this year. Is that legit or did somebody hear it from the brother of a janitor who was cleaning during a BCS meeting and overheard it while hopped up on cold medicine?

Our ranking will count towards the C-USA. That is why even though it makes me ill I will be rooting for BC and WVU to win out. We need both to get as high as possible in the BCS Rankings.

Well it's also being said that Boston College finish would count toward the BIG EAST #12 rule next year. And I got this from the West Virginia Rivals site.

I would think since Louisville is not officially in the Big East that everything they do now benefits CUSA and not the BE.

Not intended as a flame.

Go Blazers!

I would rather BC's success count towards the ACC and Louisville count towards the Big East but I guess that would be unfair considering neither actually play in their new conferences yet.

Good grief this was a depressing loss.

It benefits Louisville and our future conference. Explain to me how everything Louisville does now is good for CUSA other than earning a bit of cash for you leaches which we've been doing for years anyway.

I was referring to the rankings Michael Jackson. Louisville rankings this year will have no bearing on the NBE next year.

On the other hand, the higher up you get ranked this year the more CUSA will be mentioned this year. It's called publicity.

You're calling CUSA leaches but we tried to kick you out of the league 8 years ago. If that had happened you wouldn't have to be calling us "leaches" today.

*hit happens dude!

That "leaches" comment was posted by a Memphis fan. You love to be able to claim UofL when it helps your shot in the dark BCS chances, yet you try to say that the NBE will not compare to C-USA.......talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth!

Isn't there a C-USA board for you to post on?

UL, actually the leaches comment was by L-Yes, I was just expressing my "not this again" feeling with my "good grief" comment.

Touche regarding your "I thought you said you weren't gonna post here anymore???" That's a good catch.....and funny.

Here you go. Read down about half http://www.bcsfootball.org/news.cfm?headline=53

Kelly Whiteside, USA Today: Hi, Kevin. I just had a question about the Big East, when you look at their highest rated team it's, West Virginia at 20 and three non-BCS teams are above them. Can you address if they will have an automatic bid in their future in the system?

Kevin Weiberg: Well what you said there, Kelly, I think, is the key point. You know, any evaluation that we would have of any conference would be one that would be more than a single season evaluation. And we have not finalized how future automatic qualification status will be determined.

But what we are thinking about and continuing to work on is a system that will take in to account a four-year performance rating of a conference. And we'll try to look at elements other than just a single team's relative ranking in the system. We're really interested in understanding the overall strength of conferences as reflected by teams in the top 12 and top 25, as well as overall strength.

We've not settled on how we will go about doing that, quite yet, but that's kind of where our focus has been. I think it's also fair to point out that in past years, we've had other conferences whose champions have been ranked less than 12 - rather lower than 12, in the final polls. So, again, I think we would view it as trying to not overreact to any conference's performance on a single-season basis.

Kelly Whiteside: Just as a quick follow up, you don't expect any changes until when, do you think?

Kevin Weiberg: Well I think the way we're talking about it at this point, Kelly, is that we would really plan to not have an evaluation of AQ status until we've gone through an additional four-year period. So the two years of the remaining BCS structure, and the two years of any new structure. And of course that assumes that there is a new structure rolling forward here at some point.

But that is the way we have talked about it. And it would also include a review of teams that are part of the conference at the time of the evaluation. So as conference realignment continues to play out, conferences are going to get credit for the performance of teams that are migrating or moving in to their conference. That's another important element of the consideration as we go forward.

I swear I'm not going to post here anymore...........................................until whatever. I couldn't help it.

But whatever that one word in bold is I haven't been doing it.

:stupid:

That is good news for your conference. They need it. This also means you don't get "bredit" for Miami and Va Tech finish from last year.

Okay I'm done. I know I can't post here anymore oldtiger is ragging me about what I said.

No' I'm not ragging you......If you look in the "not going to post on the big east board" thread, you will see my post saying the same thing. My comment about "touche" wasn't just meant for you, but me also. Seriously, no offense meant.
