RE: Big East Football Recruiting 2013
On his 18th birthday, Lakewood High WR Marquez Valdes verbally committed to Louisville, becoming the 10th commit in Charlie Strong's 2013 class and the second receiver alongside 3-star wideout CJ Cooper of Raleigh, NC.
"It was the place that fit me best," said Valdes. "I just had that feeling from talking with the coaches and watching their games."
The St. Petersberg, FL native, listed at 6'3" 190, is rated a 3-star by Rivals and ESPN and picked Louisville over West Virginia, Iowa State and Toledo. Recruiting analysts for ESPN describe Valdes as a possession receiver with strong hands who should be able to add bulk to his frame over time.

MD DE Nik D'Avanzo decommitted from Temple and committed to Cincy because he's a country boy and didn't feel comfortable going to school in a city. The geography education in Maryland is clearly quite poor.

You're being sarcastic right? UC is one of THE most urban schools in the Big East.

No, that's what he literally said. It is the most puzzling recruitment I have ever seen. Not to mention he goes to HS in Baltimore. He's really in for a shock when he gets to UC.
As far as most urban, Temple and UC are equally tied there.

Yea I know I said Cincy was ONE of the most urban schools in the Big East. Temple, DePaul, St. John's, Marquette are among the others.
Interesting to say the least if that was his reason for switching.

"I love all the Temple coaches and the school, but the location … I'm not sure I fit there," D'Avanzo said. "I'm a country boy, and Temple is in the middle of the city. I went there three times thinking I'd adjust and learn to like it, but I'm just not feeling the area right now."
Like seriously?

RE: Big East Football Recruiting 2013
Rutgers Commit Analysis: Nadir Barnwell
Good read about RU's top recruit for 2013 (4* ESPNU300) Local young man from Piscataway playing for the home school.
Quotes:
" Projected Collegiate Position: Cornerback or Strong Safety
Standing 5-11 and 185 pounds with long arms, Barnwell has a frame conducive to playing the cornerback position on the collegiate level. However, his skill-set, ability to seek contact, and top-speed level would lend to the idea of him being an outstanding strong safety prospect as well."
" Overall Assessment:
Barnwell could likely be a candidate for early playing time due to his mental knack for the game, maturity and physical style of play. Early on, don't be be surprised to see him start out at the safety position and then transfer over to cornerback as he continues to develop. Look for, at least, a 3-year on-field collegiate contribution and likely professional emergence from Barnwell if he can remain relatively healthy over the next few seasons."

SMU gets commit from first 4* (Scout), RB Traylon Shead. I think we're at 23 in this class. Currently have nice rankings from Rivals #48, Sports 247 #51 and Scout #54. When will we get an update Poise?
