Once again it is irrelevent in todays world. What part of that do you not understand. Louisville is in much better shape today than SMU. Spain used to have the armada which everyone feared, their navy doesn't get much respect today though does it.

bearcat...every program has their ups and downs . Louisville has a decent program but that is all. Your arugment is that past acomplishments don't matter and it would be correct IF there were present acomplishments on that level...in this case there are not. The problem with this board that we have a fans of programs who have NEVER played at the highest level dissing those who have.

From what I have seen they are simply stating the obvious. Their program is currently better than SMU's. I can't argue with that.

Coog, I think I know what your problem is. You set these arbitrary standards in your head that you think everyone in the world should adhere to. In your demented state you are unable to correlate, you can't understand that SMU is a terrible program simply because they were ranked in the top ten 20 years ago. You can't wrap your brain around the concept that they cheated and got the death penalty and destroyed any respect they had built. You are unable to comprehend that although Rice has a 5 billion dollar endowment it has NOTHING AT ALL to do with a conversation about athletics. Coog, if your so happy with SMU then why are you here? I think if you really thought SMU would ever amount to anything again you'd be happy with it and discuss it with people that care.
