One last middle finger to The Man...

It's a sad story filled with missteps by both sides.

The thing that shocks me the most is he spent 99 days in jail for probation violation stemming from having too many cars on his lawn...

It's "around the corner" from where I grew up. He had the general population behind him. That's tough for a kook to do, but he did it.

Sad tale. I'd like to be able to say that the city statutes caused his problems..but..he seemed to have a ton of them not related to the fowl.

He was jailed for a "grading violation?" As in he changed the grading of his property? How do you get thrown in jail for that?

By dealing with officials only interested in the ineluctable power of the state.

Through civil disobedience and not caring to put up with the system put in place. It escalated over time into something that someone, somewhere, sometime, decided was a "jailable" offense.
