RE: Would Jurich take the commissioner job?
Jurich would be a terrible conference commissioner.

An AD has to deal with one school president a conference commissioner has to deal with all of them. Jurich is a hard nosed DOer, he does a great job with UofL because his boss supports him and all of his efforts to make Louisville the best it can be. But in that process Jurich has been known to ruffle feathers and run his position with a very strong hand. At the end of the day Jurich is a great dictator but I don't think he would be a great compromiser, like the sort a commissioner needs to be.

I have said repeatedly I could careless what UL does. Trust me on this, not many people at UCONN would care either if UCONN is associated with a school like UL long term wise. Where we all end up I have no clue but not having UL as a conference mate is least of my concerns.

Among the UCONN fanbase, there are plenty guys like Wilkie01 who would want UCONN out of this conference the minute we get an invite. I am just glad they are not here spreading those crap every day.

My only hope since we are on the BE board, we should try to keep the conference in positive light if that's even possible.

Not unless BYU changes its mind and Mitch McConnell starts sending daily fruit baskets/hookers to President Powers to apologize for the **** he caused when West Virginia was added to the Big 12.

There are quite a few UofL posters here and I think you let a couple of them shape your entire view of UofL. Just like I try not to judge UConn just from you even though I find you quite annoying, you should try to do the same.

And correct, we are not our state's main school like your beloved Huskies are to your state. Despite having to deal with a pro-UK legislative representation in our state's capital all the time, even though the city of Louisville drives this state, UofL still has managed to excel in our athletic facilities and competitive teams across the board.

....so maybe we do have a little chip on our shoulder, especially when people like you from your state's school criticize us.

First Cardhouse speak for yourself, neither you or I speak for all Card fans! There are just as many Card fans that feel the way I do as feel the way you do. 04-cheers

UConn fans have to understand the Big East was never the first choice of many Louisville fans to begin with. Many Louisville fans never believed the Big East deserved BCS status to start with, but hey while the Big East was BCS we were happy to be BCS. I was happy playing Pitt, West Virgina and Syracuse plus having BCS. So understand, why I would be more than happy to go to a non-hybrid conference now that BCS and AQ are not guaranteed. Public perception and coaches poll will not favor the New Big East and West virginia, Pitt and Cuse are gone. So while I would hate to leave Cincinnati and Memphis behind, all the others not so much. 07-coffee3

To you UL fans....you need to slow your roll. You aint going anywhere until BYU changes its mind about allocation of media rights and even if they do you are joining a conference where UT and OU are currently working with ND to try and leave.

Wilkster, I feel the same way as you about our situation and what we need to do for the long-term. Although you have toned it down on this board, I was just implying that I can see how your constant posts in the past stating this on this board could ruffle some feathers.

.....but I also think SFHusky has other problems towards UofL, and I really don't care what he thinks.....he doesn't know all we've been through building our athletic program with no help from the state.

First choice? You guys had choices? I thought the Big East was a godsend for you guys at the time it happened, and did a great deal to move your program forward. Guess I was out of the loop.
