Must be a typo error here, La Techs baseball stadium was designed and built to seat 1200. They have since added a media booth, a row of seats atop home team dugout, exchanged some bench seats for chairbacks but that didnt change the capacity much one way or another. If they would post a photo facing the seating area from say second base rather than photo taken from inside seating area facing playing field then you could see for yourself, otherwise just wait until you have an opportunity to visit.

I think most universities count standing room capacity for baseball and soccer facilities.

There is no official standing room area inside Techs stadium. They refer to an area "beyond outfield fence" but that is railroad property, live trains go by.

RE: Conference USA Facilities
The new basketball practice facility construction has begun at ECU. It will be added on to the side of Minges and extend into what is now the parking area. So the first thing to fix is the parking area so it will not impact parking this fall for football. Photo courtesy of Bluewaterpirate, the official/non-official photographer of ECU sports construction projects.

RE: Conference USA Facilities
Clark LeClair Stadium.........

The offical stated capacity is 3000+ plus Jungle viewing areas, going off the ECU web site it says, The design plan for the facility, which was built on the old site of Harrington Field, increased the seating capacity to 3,000 (permanent seating) and can hold upwards of 2,000 additional spectators in the elevated berm area known as the "Williams Jungle". But, with 9 games over 5,000, and 2 over 5,500 it's more than aparent that the stadium capacity is above 5,500. I was at that record game and many more could fit in the jungle. Change it or not, it's cool, Pirate fans know that CLS can hold more than 5,500 easy.

RV has stated numerous time that baseball was one of the priorities once the new football stadium was completed. UNT currently has a committee looking into fund raising and such. RV just won't start the program until they have an on campus stadium ready to go. They started women's softball without a stadium and it was really tough on the girls so RV said he would never do that again.

RV = Rick Villareal, UNT AD.

Agreed. Marshall's record attendance in the Joan is over 40,000 but our official capacity is 38,000 and some change. It's assumed that you can go past the official capacity with standing room only, etc, in just about every facility in the country.

RE: Conference USA Facilities
Not to hijack the thread, but its good to see CUSA will have 11 baseball members. A 30-game conference schedule where everyone gets to play every other team seems sensible. It'll be interesting to see if schools like Rice, who typically plays a tough OOC schedule, will be in favor of 30 games. That only leaves about 20 or so OOC games to schedule.

You can see the football construction just beyond the baseball stadium.
