RE: NCAA 2013 XBOX Dynasty
When do we plan on getting started? I will also need a tutorial on how to advance weeks, etc. I did a online dynasty a few years ago but we only played head to head. I assume we will be doing the same here with no vs CPU games.

Any ideas at to league parameters for issues like nano blitzing, punting, 5 wide, etc or are we gonna be the wild, wild west? I would personally prefer a SIM league.

BTW, I will be on Sunday night if anyone wants to play a friendly.

Here's a list of teams still available for those that are looking to get in on this (some good teams too):

Cincy-
UConn-
Louisville-
Temple-
USF-
Navy-
BYU/AFA/Fresno-

I would literally play with any one of those schools.

When you make the divisions I would be willing to play with either SDSU or Temple if it helps make the divisions make sense in a geographical way.

Cool Poise. Hopefully we can get a few more cats lined up before we kick off. Still shooting for a week from this coming Tuesday.

For advancing weeks, players have an option to select ready to advance, I'll try to wait for all players to have to selected that option before actually advancing the week. Keep in mind that we're aiming to advance 2 game weeks per actual week.

What did you think the advantages were to only playing head to head? Time savings? No stat boosting against the CPU, etc?

Prefer a SIM league as well. I think I've found a decent set of rules to use, I will try to post them in this thread later today.

Going to wait a little longer to set up the league to allow time for rosters to come out and hoepfully somebody will pick up one of the 3 potential 14th members. The plan is to start this thing up in about a week.

RE: NCAA 2013 XBOX Dynasty
So here are The Rules:

Difficulty: All-American
Recruiting Difficulty: Varsity
Sliders: Default
Rosters: TBD (likely FAIRDALE KINGS once released)
Quarters: 8 min
Timesavers: On
Custom Playbooks: Off
Coaching Contracts: Off

A few additional rules to keep this thing as close to SIM as possible, which is what I think most folks are looking for (myself included). My personal preference is to play both vs User and vs CPU games.

User vs User Games:

No Cheese, as they say. Which means: No running the same defensive play over and over and over. Same goes for offense. I tend to think these things work themselves out in game, as opponents adjust, but no cheese seems to be a common rule. If you do cheese, see punishments below. Also, if you have other ideas about what no cheese means, please post them.

User vs Computer Games:
If you are up by more then 14 punt the ball or kick a field goal.
Do not cheese. If you are up 28 in the 4th qtr you must put your 2nd string in. (need to see stats for these kids)

Restarts:
You are allowed 1 "mulligan" if you will a year. Meaning you can restart any game (other than user vs user).

Punishments:
First offender - Star QB will be benched for 1 game
Second offense - Star QB and RB will be benched for 1 game
Third offense - Coach is put on a 5 game ban
There is no fourth offense - you are just booted.

Yes the punishments are harsh, but the idea is that they're never supposed to be handed out.

Additional Notes:

- My XBOX Live handle is ATLSRT, I will send out friend invites to all those who have given me their handle this morning.

- Still waiting for named/ updated rosters to come out before starting the league. Target start date is Monday, July 23, 2012.

- If you have something you'd like to add or subtract from the rules, feel free to voice your opinion.

- One thing I did notice in creating a practice online dynasty with the new Big East is that it appears we are forced into a 9 game conference schedule. Don't think there is anything we can do about that, but at least we'll all play vs Users more.

- Assuming only 3 games OOC, please post the teams that you would prefer to play OOC and I will do my best to get them on your schedule. It might not be a bad idea to throw out 5 or so, in case some of the teams you'd like to play are not available on the weeks that you have open.

Remember, ATLSRT = BroncoFan78.

How are we handling OOC games? Are we allowed to customize them or is it whoever we're given by the comp?

P.S. Am I the only one who can't wait until we get a playoff in the video game?

Check out TampaKnight's post above (or it's in the rules post). We're forced into a 9 game conference schedule so if you post your top 3 preferred OOC matchups. Then give me a couple of alternatives in case those first 3 aren't available on the weeks that your team has open. I should be able to get the OOC games that you'd prefer.

Poise- can you edit the first post in this thread so that it includes the current list of participants/ available teams and the rules?

RE: NCAA 2013 XBOX Dynasty
I believe the Operation Sports community rosters are out today or tomorrow. I'm leaning towards those over the aforementioned FAIRDALE KINGS rosters because the OS community rosters have player attributes corrected as well and they're built by a few folks, based on feedback from actual fans of the individual teams. They also include impact freshman, whcih always seem to be off when the game is released. Seems like the best option to me. Once I get those downloaded I'll set up the league and send out invites so folks can mess around with their pre-season tasks.

The league is set to kickoff play next Monday, July 23rd.

Fairdale's is always very good, but the community rosters are a completely different animal, so I'm with you 100%. With Fairdale (and a bunch of others that are already out) you'll get accurate names and numbers, but with the community rosters, you'll get names/numbers plus all incoming freshmen like you said, very objective ratings corrections, depth chart adjustments, equipment changes, and physical attribute adjustments. TBH, I care a LOT about that last one, because post-Sam Keller, the EA rosters really aren't that great - the players often look nothing like their real-life counterparts, and I'm talking in terms of skin color, weight, height etc. not just trivial stuff like helmets. Because of this, a simple plug-and-play roster like Fairdale's really only gets you halfway in the realism department. So, I'd definitely endorse holding out until tonight when the community rosters come out. Quite frankly it's astounding that a group of people would spend days/weeks to completely overhaul the rosters just to increase realism as much as possible - FOR FREE.

Agreed.

You posted earlier in this thread about potential dynasty freezes between weeks 5-7. That just happened to me in week 7 against Fresno St whilst I was playing out our final season in the MWC. Tried to restart 3 different times, all 3 restarts brought the same high level of fail.

The Fix: go into recruiting for the week you're having freeze issues with and view your recruiting board, then back out and try your game again. Worked perfectly for me and several others.

Nice! I'll definitely try to remember that, thank you. My personal fix was to simply disconnect my internet cable from my 360 (I never play online) before/during games. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but since I started doing that, it hasn't frozen again.
