It's relatively easy this season, but check out what's on deck for the upcoming seasons. We've managed to get some nice home and home series with schools from the ACC, SEC and Big XII.

The new coach and AD have a bit more wiggle room with the schedule. We had scheduled OOC games with Louisville. Now they'll be conference games.

Interested to see those Kansas and Tennessee match-ups. Big East caliber recruits should be in the fold.

Rather impressive after this year. Memphis needs to improve the quality of their f/b team on the field facing that type of future OOC and Big East f/b schedule.

I think the last time they played in Memphis they didn't have a game with either Mississippi school. Is that an area that the Vols recruit in?

It doesn't get good till 2014. I'm hoping by then Memphis is fielding one hell of a team.

UT has a history of moving games to future schedules when they think Memphis may be fielding a halfway decent team. It's happened several times already.

Memphis also has a verbal agreement to play Vanderbilt in there somewhere.

I really like 2015: Missouri, Ole Miss, Miami (FL), and Kansas. SEC, Big 12, and ACC opponents that are all beatable. This is the kind of OOC schedule I think all nBE teams should be aspiring for. I hate seeing FCS opponents on UCF's schedule every year, I'd love a shot against teams like Kansas, Washington State, Purdue, Duke, etc...

Of course, many of those games were signed by our former AD RC Johnson. Other than a recent announcement by new AD Tom Bowen about renewing the series with Ole Miss and UT, we really have no idea what his scheduling philosophy will be.

I may be wrong (and correct me if I am), but I believe that that was current UK offensive coordinator Randy Sanders' last season at UT in the same position(I'm talking the year that was cancelled.). The following year, they brought back David Cutcliffe, who had been fired by Ole Priss to run the offense again, and to restore QB Erik Ainge's confidence. (When we we did get to play them, we didn't have the services of a graduated QB Danny Wimprine, or star running back Deangelo Williams who sat that game out with a injury. He could have played, but I think head coach Tommy West was ticked off at Williams seemingly wishy-washy attitude with the injury.)
I think that season was one of Tommy West's best coaching jobs...even though the record didn't reflect it.
He went through several QB injuries...and had to bring former QB turned wide receiver Maurice Avery back to the QB position.
He and offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner reinvented the offense for the team no less than three times...and we beat Akron that year in our bowl game.

It would be if it were true but it's not. Lots of Volunteer hate going on in Tiger Nation and some things get distorted. The contract will be honored. Now Arkansaw is a different animal.

Arkansas still owes us a game they never fulfilled.
