Drive-thru prices
I just went through the Wendy's drive-thru and paid $7.78 for (2) Sons-of-Baconator and $2.19 for large fries. That is a total of $9.97. Who in the world can afford to eat out anymore with the price of groceries? Damn!

You must have supersized...haha. I hear you. My kids love that stuff but I can't eat it. When in doubt, Chinese.

It's not just that, everything is expensive now. Those who claim there is no inflation, or it's flat, aren't living in the real world.

RE: Drive-thru prices
Go buy a bag of feed corn at a Southern States if you want to see artificial government market manipulated price pressure meet natural market conditions in the food industry. In 2009 it was $4.50/50 lbs. Thanks to the liberal brilliance of ethanol (dumbest culture in human history...burning food) it spiked to over $11.00 last year. Going to approach $15 this year with the drought mixed in.

Yeah, I'd say the price of cheeseburgers is going to be heading north.

Shame on you. You shouldn't be eating that nasty stuff, especially that late.

A couple of nutritious Whoppers-with-cheese would have been a more heart healthy alternative.

Next time, try and make the right choice.

You are probably right. I had real sticker shock.

And, Beck, I would love to have Chinese, but can't find one close to me that is open after midnight. And after a few beers, I am not doing any more unnecessary driving.

RE: Drive-thru prices
Just went to Taco Bell. Three hard shell tacos with extra beef was $2.97 + $1.80. 1 beefy 5 layer was $1.19. Total was $5.96. The might have screwed up the price on the 5 layer, but that's OK. There wasn't any extra beef. Blood glucose was 197 (after a 6 pack + of Budweiser) so 25 units of Novalog and 80 units of Lantus will make me very happy come morning.

Not only does it seem more expensive as it is, most have stagnet wages. We seem to have less and less all the time.

I'm not so sure I'd want to be eating oriental in these days of high chicken prices...meow.

It's not all bad...

Salmon is in, and can be bought for under $8.00 lb.

Lobster hasn't been this cheap in many a year.

Fresh guinea pig continues to be priced at near all-time lows.

With the exception of purebreds, Obama's favorite, dog meat, is also holding its price.

RE: Drive-thru prices
I grew up on a burger, fries, and coke (pop, soda, whatever you call it).

When I was a teenager, we'd hit McDonald's and get a Big Mac meal. Sheesh. It's nearly $6 bucks now.

If you go to a sit down restaurant, the real highway robbery is ordering a pop or tea or any kind of drink. It's pretty much $2 bucks anymore. When my 2 daughers and me go out to eat, we drink water to save $6 bucks.

I have the same problem, Chris. Wendy's was always my favorite fast food. I'd eat a double, chili for my combo, and a large drink. It's frickin' nearly $7 anymore. Now.........I eat off the dollar menu, which is becoming more like $1.29 or $1.39......lol.

I've noticed it too. Can't eat my usual 3-way and a coney, with Pepsi at Skyline anymore. It's like $9 or $10 bucks, plus tip if you eat in.

As a single guy, hitting KFC, Wendy's, McD's, Taco Bell, Little Caesar's (cheapest pizza in town), BK, Subway, Arby's, Skyline, Gold Star, Frisch's, ain't what it used to be. You'll easily spend between $6 to $10 at the drive thru for yourself unless you eat off the dollar menu and drink water.

Heck, give your email to O'Charley's and other decent sit down restaurants and they'll send you discount coupons weekly, which aren't bad. You can almost eat cheaper there with email discount coupons than going through a drive thru.

Something to keep in mind when purchasing soft drinks...it cost about a dime for the restaurant cost for a large soda.

Huge margin in those drinks. That is why they are included in the meals. It is always a better value to order without getting the meal.

Most importantly what are the coney prices at Skyline and Gold Star?

And what is the price of a Frischs Big Boy, and a LaRosas pizza.

Those are the places i make sure i hit when i get back to town.

Skyline has gotten ridiculously expensive, but it is like selling oil, people are going to buy it no matter what. Skyline is a commodity in Cincy/NKY.

Went to Burger King #5214 at 5120 Delhi Pike tonight. Ordered 2 single stackers and 2 value onion rings. Total price was $4.58. Asked for ketchup and mustard and was told they no longer kept mustard as the dates on the mustard expired and only old people ordered mustard.

I order mustard. I'm only 47 years old. 03-lmfao

Seriously, when I order it "my way", I get pickles, lettuce, mustard, and mayo. Accidentally got mustard and mayo on a sandwich once, but ate it anyway and kind of liked it. So I put them together now.

Mustard is for old people? That's a new one.

I'll give McDonald's credit. I don't know if they do it nationwide, or in all of Cincinnati, but the McD's on Cornell in Blue Ash only charges $1 for any size soft drink all Summer long.

RE: Drive-thru prices
If you guys want to save money at the drive thru you need to stick to the value menu, it's called that for a reason.

My favorite thing to do is order two double cheeseburgers and a side of big mac sauce from McD's. It's basically a half price big mac.
