The one worthwhile thing to come out of Utah Part II:

Well two ... the fan sentiment made a big lurch against PJ tonight. Similar to Chan during his VT blowout where he got loudly boo'ed on his DUI jumbotron video.

I agree. If it were 2 SEC teams they'd be raving about the defensive slugfest.

Just returned from the game. It was great to see in person. The fans were into it the whole game. Almost no one left early.

I think the poor offensive showing was from 2 good defenses and timing being off from being the first game of the year.

Just got home. An ugly win is better than a pretty loss.

Why is the "T" missing in the pic above?

Season tickets this year after the reseating this summer. Actually puts me back where my student season tickets were when I was in school.

I'd rather blame Stinespring than give Groh credit.

We should have been going for it on 4th more. Punting that many times on our side of the field isn't wise.

RE: Week 1 Open Thread
Another question for the group. Did Journell make up for being arrested and missing the Sugar Bowl, likely costing us that game, or was his miss in regulation not made up for by him connecting to send it to overtime and to seal the OT victory?

Tough call. He really cost us the Sugar Bowl and could have put the game away in regulation vs coming through to win the game for us....

It did seem like we were punting a lot from the GT 35 to 45.

My seats are at the 50 yard line on the East side too.

Thomas is good, not great. He's just BIG for a QB. Would've started at LSU last year though!

That's like every game practically. 4th & 1 from midfield is a punting situation for VT. 4th & goal from the 1 is FG time. Makes no sense. No offense intended...

On behalf of Paul Johnson for every media interview through next week : it is what it is, they've got scholarship players too, 1 game at a time, I'll have to look at the tape

And with this I'll take my post game rage down to a prolonged hot simmer for the balance of the season.

I think the biggest thing from week 1 for the ACC is the injury to Jenkins at FSU. Might make Clemson the favorite in the division, esp given how poor NC State looked.

Beating PC 223-0 wouldn't make me any less pissed at Paul Johnson. Between Utah and last night, I fell off the wagon. He'll have to beat U(sic)GA AND win a bowl game AND run a non-inept offense for the rest of the season to get me back on board.

I think he is great but you wouldn't know it from this game or the Clemson games last year. His best game was the Miami game last year. Which I've seen 20+ times. He was very hard on himself in interviews after the game.
