ESPNU College Football Podcast .... Ivan Maisel's main thoughts of ND's move to the ACC is that this officially marks the beginning of irrelevance for ND, and for ACC scheduling this is a huge blow to the Southern Conference since Wofford and company won't be getting nearly as many games against the ACC.

What a douchenozzle.

Maisel was nothing more than a set up man for Beano Cook. Since Beano's death Maisel has struggled to be relevant.

RE: SECSPN
I'd like to add the ENTIRE DAMN 2013-14 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME to this list of grievances.

From Musberger chanting SEC in the booth ... to saying it would go down as one of the greatest seasons in SEC history after Auburn lost ... to saying FSU won because they built the program after the SEC ... to saying it was the first time Jameis played big boy football.

To Herbstreit saying Jameis finally was playing a SEC level defense.

To every god d*mn SEC person you can think of being in the ESPN megacast ... Saban, Tebow, Manziel ... it was ridiculous!

RE: SECSPN
Ohhhhhhhhhh they're STILL slurping the SEC even after the trophy presentation! Herbie saying Auburn has been battle tested ... they play in the SEC! But FSU? Why they're an unknown!

HS: "48 hours to enjoy this historic win ... sounds like Saban"

BM: "The SEC aint going away we know that."

RE: SECSPN
It's awful, I understand fans talking about conference pride but why are announcers buying into this crap? This should have been about Florida State and Auburn and their teams, strategies etc. but all we heard about was the SEC all damn game and even in the post game. This result had nothing to do with conferences, it had to do with FSU having superior athletes due to excellent recruiting the last few years.

ESPN pimping the SEC because of the soon to be launched (this August?) conference network, which ESPN owns?

RE: SECSPN
I find it amusing that ESPN Gameday won't allow Herbstreit to pick the winner of games he is going to do the color commentary on. But fawning over the SEC is OK, apparently.

I can just hear Herbie and Brent talking off camera after the Auburn game. I imagine it went along the lines of "well, they beat us this time, but we'll win the next one." They're not even trying to appear unbiased.

Wow, that was kinda rough. Even though Bama lost the best qb in their history, as the writer claims, and FSU returns probably one of their best ever, they still prefer Bama and the likes of Oklahoma. WOW!

I just sent a mail bag question to Heather asking if Will Harris is an SEC homer or just stupid. Let's see if we get a response next week...

But I keep hearing time after time after time on here that ESPN is in our corner because they are all in with us.

The ACC is all-in. ESPN is not.

ESPN strikes again, though it wasn't SEC this time. Sports Center just said that Notre Dame plays Minnesota in the Frozen Four tonight. One problem: it's North Dakota, not Notre Dame. Gotta love accurate reporting!

Of the three ACC vs SEC games today, only one has an ACC team that is ranked and ESPN put it on the SECN while the other two are on the two ESPN channels with national coverage.

What? FSU, Tech, Clemson, and Louisville are all ranked in the top 22 of the CFP rankings.

Clemson, FSU, and UofL all played at home. The SEC can't force those games onto the SEC network in order to get fans complaining to their cable companies.

Georgia Tech is the team that will be in the Championship Game against Florida State thus GT is still relevant Nationally. The rest may be nationally ranked but their relevance is much less in that regard.

We are in the Age of the Playoff, we are past the Age of the Bowls. While Bowl games may still exist, during the regular season it is all about the Playoff and who still affects it.
