C-USA Freshmen/Newcomers
Give me some freshmen or new transfers to watch. These don't have to be players who will be all americans or anything, just new players who are solid contributors and look to be future stars of C-USA.

For ECU I would say Montese Overton, Adonis Armstrong, and Vintavious Cooper.

Montese Overton rsFR OLB
Has started 2 of ECU's 4 games. 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and a fumble returned for a TD

Adonis Armstrong JR (JUCO transfer) CB
23 tackles, 6 pass breakups, .5 tackles for loss, 1 FR

Vintavious Cooper JR (JUCO transfer) RB
The best RB on our team IMO though he hasn't started a game yet. Only 28 rushes for 153 yards but a 5.5 yard avg which is by far the best on the team. 5 receptions for 55 yards.

Marshall's Frosh punter from Indiana, Tyler Williams. the kid is averaging 47 yards per punt (4th in nation). A real weapon that has flipped field position for us many times already this year.

UAB's Jake Ganus, S true fresh

RS fresh Austin Brown QB? maybe, he took over the starting job @Ohio state and probably will keep it all season if he can play well.

RE: C-USA Freshmen/Newcomers
For Tech RB Tevin King #26 will be bigtime. He unfortunately is lost for the season with a torn ACL...but should get a med redshirt and have a full 4 years in CUSA. He rushed 46 times for 369 yards (8 yard average) 5 touchdowns and he caught 5 passes for 47 yards (9.4 yard average) prior to his injury.

We have another big freshman RB who will see more action now in Kenneth Dixon #28. Dixon has 43 attempts for 244 yards (5.7 yard average) and 4 touchdowns thus far.

On defense...not a freshman but a first year starter is sophomore CB LeVander Liggins #13. He has been our best DB so far and has 18 tackles and 6 passes deflections.

RE: C-USA Freshmen/Newcomers
As a side note to the three freshman running backs...

It looks more and more likely that Tron Martinez won't be back this season and hopefully takes a med RS year to recover from off-season knee surgery.

Travon Van was approached by the coaching staff before the Rice game about a move to the defensive backfield. He was a standout corner in Cali and what he was being recruited for by most Div 1 schools. He accepted and got in the game for a few plays when one of the starting corners came out with an injury.

Looks like we're going to be a three-headed monster at tailback this season.

RE: C-USA Freshmen/Newcomers
Breshad Perriman Has made the two deep WR rotation as a True Freshman.

Terrance Plummer, the starting Mike as a Sophomore.

Jacoby Glenn, true freshman, starting Nickel Cornerback (i.e. 5th or 6th DB)

Thomas Niles, RS Freshman, 2 deep defensive line.

Jose Jose, 340 pound starting DT. I think he's a Junior but he transferred from JC and didn't play last year.

RE: C-USA Freshmen/Newcomers
FIU's starting QB Jake Medlock went down in the 2nd quarter against Louisville with a broken foot. True Freshman EJ Hilliard came in to replace him in the 2nd half and went 9/10 with a TD against a top 20 team in the country. Hilliard comes from the same high school (Miami Northwestern) that Louisville's star QB Teddy Bridgewater came out of as well as many other FBS and NFL players. Hilliard also made two big runs, but both were called back due to holds... Hilliard is an excellent scrambler, and he will have his chance to shine over the next few weeks as he will start with Medlock out. This is all speculation, but I have feeling he will be a star in the future C-USA as he becomes our new starting QB.

Tulane has four talented true freshmen: DB's Darion Monroe, Jordan Batiste, Lorenzo Doss as well as a back-up in QB Devin Powell.

Our 3 freshmen DBs Monroe, Batiste and Doss are all outstanding. Not surprising as they all had several quality offers.

I went to school with Batiste's older sister. Quality family.

Man did I call this one. Tay Cooper had a break out game against the miners.

Cooper Shines On A Rainy Night For The Pirates

"Cooper became the workhorse for the Pirates, carrying the ball 23 times for a career-high 151 yards and making four catches for 52 yards."

I would also throw in Chris Rabb. He sacked South Carolina's QB twice.

UAB started 7 freshmen on Saturday. UAB started only 7 seniors
