That's terrible news. I didn't realize ACLs were still career enders, I hope he got more than one opinion on that.

The kid rehabs from an ACL tear and then re-tears the same ACL his first practice back. Considering how good they normally are at that surgery now it makes you wonder what the deal is.

I feel terrible for the kid after everything he did to try and get healthy after the first tear.

The injury bug continues to strike the Cards, what is in the water in Louisville?

Fluoride is in the Louisville water.

I feel bad for Mike, the young man can't catch a break. Something weird is going on at Louisville. Way to many injurys ever year, It's someone getting hurt every damn year. Has there been a year we haven't had A player hurt, that missed most or all of the season or never came back the same ?

we had two guys out last year (one did come back late in the year...not the same explosive player he had been...and the other was CLEARED to come back and play by team doctors...but claimed tendonitis...and was just given a medical redshirt by the NCAA and transferred to LSU) so we kind of feel you guys there.
He was a senior...so who do you all see coming in and filling his spot...and how reliable can be they be there for you?

Luckily we're 30 people deep this year so I don't know how much Mike would have played anyway. I'm very sorry for the kid and I know Pitino will take care of his education and coaching career but I don't think it will hurt the team all that much.

Mike would have been coming off the bench. He will be missed though, has A very High basketball IQ. He want's to be A Coach, that was one reason he come to the Ville. We have Kevin Ware that will be taking more of the Minutes that Mike would have played. I would say With Wayne Blackshear, Luke Hancock and Ware they will absorb the time Mike would have played. Louisville is very deep this year. Mike's team leadership will be missed, he was vocal on the court.

Mike would have played in key situations. Im worried about the three point game this season. Its been bad enough the last year or so. I hope the best for M&M.

seems like uofl has unusually high amt of injury...does this have anything to do at all with the strength and conditioning regimen or Pitino's way of practice, etc?

Some fans have suggested this as part of the reason why. Being it was the 1st day of practice, I don't think it's the case this time.

A few of the past players have said that the actual games are easier then practice.
