Granted, I'm happy. This is what we needed to happen to play for yet another ACC championship. But how do you miss that call?

You'd better be worrying about SC with your nearly Groh caliber defense.

The ACC looks like it will go 0-4 against the SEC on rivalry week.

The ACC in football: [Image: icon_turrible.gif]

We knew our defense was going to suck this year, and as I have pointed out multiple times 2013 was when we expected to be national contenders based on recruiting. South Carolina might very well beat us this year, but they best enjoy it because after that we will own their asses like we always have.

Notre Dame might be up there as well....

tomorrow will be very interesting. We get all the BCS ratings, except for 1 computer. Harris debuts for the first time.

I think that ND will be # 6 in the AP Poll, #7 in the Coaches Poll.

I think they may get higher. For one they were ahead of Florida last week..... Also, I think the offensive outputs will come into play.

Also, remember, Harris comes in this week- that's the more important one for the BCS.

I only left ND out since they crushed an unranked Miami while Kansas St. did the same thing to Kansas which should keep them ahead of ND and Florida beat a top 3 team which is probably enough to leap-frog ND.

I just don't see how they can beat K State in the polls and stay ahead of Florida.

Clemson needs help. Probably best case would be Miami beating FSU. Other conference games for FSU-
BC- not going to happen
Duke- highly doubtful
Va Tech- probably other best case
Maryland- not going to happen...

what's interesting now is NC State controls things more than anyone(other than Maryland) right now. If they win last 6 games, they win division.

Folks look at Miami light years better than Kansas right now....

I think regardless the poll positions- the votes will be very close. I think the computers for the BCS will be very kind to the Irish.

RE: Open Thread - Week 6
one thought on VT- with their next 3 games after Duke being @ Clemson, @ Miami, and FSU- could the Duke/VT game be more important for VT for getting to be bowl eligible?

I know we need help, but with FSU's offense I feel a ton better right now after surviving GT's offense with our piss poor defense. We can out score anybody left on our schedule if we play on offense like we are capable of.

Looks like Miami didn't play this weekend. Next week's game against UNC is a big one considering they beat Virginia Tech...

Let me tell you - if we can beat FSU we will try our freaking hardest. I know it will be HUGE for us and that game will be exciting. Homefield advantage will be there (REAL home field advantage, I mean) and we could win just like NCSU.

Scott Wolf voted ND #14. Glenn Guilbeau (LSU writer) voted ND #15.

Pretty funny stuff. I would like to know their rationale other than bias.

These polls are still pretty meaningless. Lots of football to be played.
