I assume you mean the conference opponents? That is "usually" determined years in advance, but for obvious reasons that doesn't apply in this case. About all I can tell you is look at the ACC's schedule for next year and assume that your division and cross-over home/away remain the same; however, which of the other inter-divisional games will be replaced by the 6th divisional game - your guess is as good as mine.

Here is the LINK.

My quick review of the 2013 schedule at the link shows that each of the existing schools has a combined 3 home and 3 away games scheduled against division opponents and their fixed crossover opponent. With the expansion, you know 7 of your 8 conference games and where 6 of them will be played. As noted, the 8th game is up in the air until further announcements.

The only thing you can be sure of is the fact that no matter what the ACC will be the last of the major conferences that does release their schedules.

No problem with going last - AS LONG AS they make use of the knowledge of other conference schedules to figure out a way to get VT, Clemson, FSU, Miami, etc. some prime-time national TV games.

Clemson home conference games in prime time are verboten. We could even agree to a Thursday game and they would automatically schedule it for a 3:30 kickoff.

RE: 2013 football schedule
If by some miracle that our next available home conference game gets picked for a prime time slot it will have been 1107 days between our two latest home conference primetime games. Since our opponent in that game is Maryland, I don't expect a primetime game. Probably a nooner on ESPNU or Raycom.

After that is NC State. God knows the ACC can't give us any kind of advantage over one of the scared NC schools, so that has 3:30 written all over it.

That means we will go yet another season, our 3rd, without a home primetime conference game. Duke gets a home primetime conference game this season and the defending ACC Champion doesn't.

The ACC is really working to improve it's football imagine. "Hey, instead of those 82k screaming Clemson fans let's put 33K fans at best out front for the entire nation to see."

Prior to VT laying 3 giant turkey eggs, I think everyone expected VT @ Clemson to be a prime time home conference game for the Tigers. Sorry the Hokies messed that up - I promise you, no one in Gobbler Country is happy about it, either.

I'm hopeful to a return to decent football this week for the Hokies. After the UNC loss, Frank was interviewed on Virginia Tech sports today and I saw the fire from him that had been woefully missing up until that point. It's not all Frank's fault but that fire comes down from the top

That's encouraging. I told my friend TigerFan77 today that it seems like Coach Beamer knows what is wrong, I'm just not sure he knows what to do to fix it... I guess we'll find out if he does.

I think what's wrong is we don't have an offensive line and running backs suited to a power running game and VT builds their offense around that. Hopefully Frank will find an offensive attack that works with the personel we have. The defense has played well at times but I know all the 3 and outs on offense have hurt the defense. Pitt had a 2-1 time of possession advantage in the first half. We didn't have a first down till 5 minutes left in the first half against Cincy either. I have hopes that we'll have one of the typical VT second half of the season were we run off a long win streak but it's looking unlikely with Miami, Clemson and FSU coming up back to back to back after Duke.
