I never understood why UConn hired Paul P.

FB is no fun when you know you're going to give away 14 to 21 points before the game even begins.

Pasqualoni is a washed up coach. UConn could've done a lot better IMHO.

I'm looking forward to resuming the Turnpike Series (formerly known as the Toilet Bowl or the Cellar Dwellar Bowl) next Saturday. It should be a fun one. And here's a bizarro world image for you: Rutgers at 3-0 in first in the Big East and Temple at 2-0 in second in the Big East. I don't think anyone would have ever thought that possible 10 years ago.

I still know very little about the Big East and NBE as compared to what I know about West Coast teams.

This win opened my eyes a little. I know UConn is not a Top 25 team this year and maybe not all that good at all (as far as I know or don't know), but this was a nice win for Temple.

What amuses me is the teams that Temple beat are legit prior to the win but once Temple beats them, that's when they suck and the coach needs to be fired, etc. Can't have it both ways. It's okay people, losing to Temple is not something you should be ashamed of, this isn't the 90's.

35-6 3rd qtr....I think we're gonna be ok Beej

We need to play two good halves per game, the rest of the way. One good half per game isn't going to cut it.

Temple is on the rise. Program has been dormant long enough. I'm ready for a new era.

That is 100% the truth!!! Many people discount Temple's wins. "UConn sucks this year," "USF has a terrible coach." The reality is that Temple doesn't have a terrible team despite being filled with a lot of freshman that were recruited from the MAC.

Temple is on the rise. Thanks to everyone who is being supportive as we continue to improve. To to all the rest of the haters who are out there, let me remind you that Temple beat UConn 2 years ago when UConn won the Big East that year. We are competitive and when our freshman get more experience, we are going to be pretty solid competition for every team, even the top ones in the league.

I really hope you guys can keep your coach, especially now that you are in the BE, and will rake in more money. Take it from a UC fan - we understand the frustrations of losing successful coaches.

That actually is key. Temple is having a good season after a lot of turnover and graduation. Freshmen/underclassmen are getting valuable playing time. It leaves Temple in a good spot going forward as long as Addazio keeps momentum going.

For the first time ever, Temple won 2 consecutive BE games.

A strong Temple with good fan support can only help the Big East.

We're never going to pay a football coach $2M, but we could probably get up to $1M-1.1M. If he wants to leave for BC or UConn or something for a little more money, he should have that opportunity. Our basketball coach only makes ~$1M total package. I think he genuinely likes it here, and won't leave for BC or UConn just because.

Can't knock on the fact that they have beaten two of the already-established BCS teams in their first year moving up. I think most of the newbies will be more competitive than you guys think (Memphis is going to take a while).

Your going to have to get up to at least $1.5M to keep a half way decent coach for a little while. There's guys making more than that on their first HC gigs.

Temple is going to adjust the pay scales for all athletic departments. I heard that Addazio will be making $1.2m to $1.5m, but I don't know if that means salaries or total benefits.

ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

The money will help. Our coach is here to stay for a while as he realizes the potential of the program. There's no doubt they will be attempting to make a run at a Big East Title in a few years. Things are in place to make this somewhat possible.

I don't really recall anyone saying Temple would not win any Big East games. It was when someone suggest Temple would win the Big East that many scoffed.

If that is the max Temple pays for a coach, they will not keep one. That would be on the low end of what current Conference USA coaches make. SMU and Houston pay over $2 million a year for their coach. And I beleive every BE coach makes more than $1.5 million.

I have pulled info from the coach's salary database. This is actually a list of base salaries and really leaves off many bonues. The average salary for members of the NBE is over $1.5 million a season. That is the average. Note I did not include Syracuse, WVU, or Pitt in this conversation. If you are only willing to go up to $1.1 million, i twudl appear that some things have not changed.
