Good regional matchup with what used to be a rival. The article mentions a home and home with either UTEP or New Mexico and UTEP needs another home game for next season. Just so happens that both the Miners and the Wildcats have an opening at the start of the year. Arizona would fit nicely but they may want this for future years and not as soon as next year, don't know, and I don't like the idea of UTEP going there next year which would give us only 5 home games.

If it acts like a troll. Posts like a troll. Looks like a troll. It just might be a troll. That quote of yours I posted was trolling at it's finest.

I don't know what you mean by that term.

I'm guessing that you feel my analysis is too harsh.

Let me re phrase.

Some fans are happy with "good enough" and others are not.

I am one of those that is not.

I've already explained why I root for the PAC 12

It is a superior conference that competes for national championships in all sports.

PAC 12 schools are also superior academic institutions.

UTEP should strive to improve their university to the point of one day being invited to join the PAC 12.

except for maybe one football team a year, the rest of the conference sucks... The only way USC won anything was by cheating

Clearly your capacity to understand the greatness of a University is based only on the quality of it's football team.

That said, the PAC 12 is regarded as the 3rd best conference in the nation behind only the SEC and Big 12 in football.

Because I generally root for the south before I vote for the north and I root for the west before I root for the east.

So you have a directional preference? You do realize that half of the Pac 12 teams are in the north right? It's interesting learning the reasons behind your actions.

I root for southern teams over northern teams generally or western teams over eastern teams.

Within the PAC 12 I usually root for the southern teams over the northern ones.

It's a pretty simple system.

I'm perplexed that you would have so much trouble understanding it.

And we are perplexed as to why you call yourself a UTEP fan. Because claiming to be one, and actually being one, are two different things.

I am a UTEP fan.

I'm just not one of those fans that is going to settle for losing seasons or NIT appearances.

I believe that UTEP can be an elite university as soon as people stop settling for Has been coaches like PRice and Floyd.

Floyd's best years are behind him. He will still have winning seasons but I think UTEP deserves a young and energetic coach like Shaka Smart.

The likelihood of attracting a successful coach willing to stay for a while on UTEP's salary, is about as likely as you admitting ballpark opposition was a stupid idea. The likelihood of landing one who can recruit and coach like Floyd, is even slimmer.

One of the stupidest arguments ever.... But what else is new.
