RE: 2 New Big East Teams play tonight (Thursday): Houston at SMU
Why have a Thursday game if it's not going to be on a more widely available network? I would love to watch Houston-SMU, but Verizon doesn't carry any of the channels listed by GoCougars. If the Big East agrees to play on weeknights we need to make sure it's on a channel most people have, otherwise it's not worth it. I wouldn't mind having our Saturday games on NBC Sports Network and our weeknight games on ESPN2.

I guess I'll be watching Oregon massacre Arizona State tonight. ASU has a good record but they haven't played anyone like Oregon yet. I just want someone to beat the SEC in the national championship, and Oregon seems to be the best team outside the SEC this year, so GO DUCKS!

You mean Verizon doesn't carry Fox sports net? When UCF plays on that channel you can't watch? Just about every carrier in the country carries FSN. If Verizon doesn't you need another carrier. Their will be a good chance some 2nd teir NBE games will be shown on FSN when the NBE contract is renewed.

Good news for those CUSA teams moving to the Big East...odds are the new Big East TV package will be a heck of a lot better than the small TV CUSA package so that should help eliminate much of the problem.

No football game involving at least one of our conference brothers (present and future) will ever be meaningless to me.

Case in point why Thursday night games are bad, bad ideas.

Would be bad on a Saturday. People want June gone.

Isn't that a rush to judgement? You guys were punching bags for over twenty year after the death penalty. His first year was a predicable disaster, but you've been to three bowl games (and won two) since then. Throw in a division title in 2010, and that's not that bad. The SMU of old will take a long time to get back to.

I will watch to see where SMU is at. The Last time I watched a SMU game was in the Old Cardinal stadium, before SMU's death penality. Needless to say it was a different SMU than the current version. SMU was a football power then in the Old Southwest Conference. They beat us by 40 points. I think SMU is still light-years away from the team that I watched that day. 07-coffee3

Your right and the SMU pay-roll is about 1 million less today then it was that day.

We were paying players too though! We had a nice run from 76-80! Just couldn't pay what the other SWC schools were paying.

Thanks for reminding me that the 49ers are playing tonight. I forgot that this week was a Thursday game. :) Awesome!

But, I will prob jump over to the Houston - SMU game during commercials.

LOL! SMU made a mistake allowing June to come back after that ASU disgrace.
