A formula going back to 1998 was used to justify keeping the Big East out of the AQ family. I hope that the new contract provides some sort of grading at the end that will reward the Big East if it outperforms the ACC (or any of the other five AQ conferences).

Really? If so that is just bogus. Since the two schools that mostly won the conference are gone, it more or less takes away BE victories and gives it losses. It makes the NBE have a combine dbelow 0.500 record in conference, while the ACC, for example, has an above 0.500 record. In reality if those teams were never there, some other team in the conference would have won those games.
