Would it be in our best interest for the Big East to raid the MWC further? I mean lets be honest. They will be adding more members to the BE. I would rather them steal from the MWC as opposed to stealing more of our members.

Maybe they take Fresno and UNLV? I seriously have no clue. Just read a few things where Fresno's name popped up.

RE: Whats best scenario for CUSA 4.0 (is it 4.0?)
I don't think they raid CUSA anymore. Some teams I would take if I were the Big East

-BYU
-Navy
-Air Force
-Fresno St
-Nevada
-UNLV
-Hawaii
-Colorado St
-UMass

How many does the Big East even want now? I mean they really just lost Louisville/Rutgers lately so why is there so much talk about them taking a ton more after already getting Tulane/ECU?

If UTEP and Tulsa go to MWC. CUSA breaks up the MAC. Still surprised you don't hear more from Ohio

Well I have to think that the ACC is going to take UCONN and Cincy before too long.

This would not surprise me, especially if the ACC loses more members; however, keep in mind that the ACC could have taken them when UL was taken. They may not be that interested.

Who knows? I just want it over with and for ECU to be in the best position they can be in when the dust settles. I'm pretty confident "that position" has been reached for now.

What you are most likely to see is that the BE takes 1-3 MWC teams and then, one of two things will happen:

(1) The "Merlliance" will come to fruition.

or

(2) The MWC will raid CUSA for it's western teams, possibly along with Southern Miss and La Tech.

IDK why people think UTEP and Tulas are going to the MWC, CUSA will probably make more money and they're not going to pay a buyout to go west. If MWC loses UNLV and Fresno maybe we can take UNM.

Only if they implode. That is more mouths to feed that really don't add much. They already have Syracuse/BC for the northeast. They would have to lose more teams and I really think the talk of the league imploding won't happen. Although I do want FSU in a better football conference.

I don't get why UTEP/Tulsa would leave either. I actually think Fresno will be BE before long. Makes too much sense.

Best case scenerio that isn't pie in the sky is:

CUSA East
ODU
JMU
Delaware
WKU
MTSU
Marshall (sorry, I know this sucks for you)
UAB (sorry, I know this sucks for you)
Charlotte

A reasonably regional conference with decent markets, a good football/basketball balance, and some old rivalries.

I don't really care about the West because, let's face it, this thing has gotten so big you aren't going to see the other side but once in 4 years. Would be nice for UTEP to stick around for bball though.

That's what I'm thinking. In the end, I think the best scenario for us, is to hope the Big East takes 1-3 MWC teams and leaves us alone. We might could end up snagging someone like New Mexico.

Nope... A) Marshall wants the Florida recruiting market... b) UAB wants the Florida recruiting market c) C-USA NEEDS to be in the Florida market.
And you've completely cut the Florida market out. Again, I'd agree with you on Delaware, but NOT on JMU.

I get the feeling that if the BE is REALLY looking toward a western team..(and Fresno and AF both told them no).. they're hoping to try to reel in Utah State and/or UNLV (again, Vegas market > Reno market). I just get that feeling that is their target... as Nevada's told them they (UN-R) is not breaking up their sports in separate conferences.

Doesn't matter where you put the Florida schools because they are too far for a bus from anywhere and a cheap flight from everywhere. Why not put them out West?

Solved

CUSA West
FAU
FIU
UTSA
UNT
LT
USM
UTEP
Tulsa

CUSA East
ODU
JMU
Delaware
WKU
MTSU
Marshall
UAB
Charlotte

You might not like JMU, buy 1, they are big in DC and 2, it would be favorable bothe geographicly and from a rivalry standpoint for everyone else in the Eastern pod.
Rice to nBE

If then ACC takes Uconn, the southern schools start bolting. FSU and Ga. Tech didn't want Pitt, BC or Syracuse. Louisville was a compromise. Cincy might be as we'll, but the ACC taking UConn would kill the conference and start another round of crap.

The best scenario is for Marshall to go back to the MAC. Tulsa, Rice and UTEP to go the MWC. USM go to the Big East Football only. UAB should just drop football and move to the A 10.

The Sun Belt teams can pretend that they arent sunbelt teams.
