I wonder what would happen if football did like rugby and basically outlawed leading with the head. Blocks and tackles would need to be with shoulders, not heads. I would like to see a red/yellow card system in football. Probably would have to say that a red card means you lose that player for rest of game and next game, but not that your team has to play a man down since that would upset the balance between offense and defense too much. And do like rugby, on a yellow you lose him for 10 minutes.

For that matter, expand the active roster by a few spots so teams can actually carry 2-deep at every position on game day, not just in practice.

I think it should be about the culture of violence and a strong disrespect to women.

But that's racist.

No argument there, on either point.

The left sure was worried about a Republican "war on women" during the campaign, yet no mention of actual violence against them. Limbaugh also pointing out today that NBC/HBO lean heavily on the side of more stringent gun control, yet push shows like Boardwalk Empire that feature mass murder and pander to the very people committing these crimes

On the news here the violence against women part was discussed as the issue. The maner of death was not the issue.

Violence on women was an issue in the campaign as the GOP had refused to support some laws recognizing some abuse or something. That is part of their War on Women. Is Rush saying she deserved what was coming to her?
Wow baiting much?
Rush simply pointed out that those who made such a big deal about supposed violence against women in recent months had very little to say about the fact that this man murdered his girlfriend, and instead focused on his means of committing the crime and the fact that he committed suicide. He was also rather disgusted about the appearance of sympathy towards Belcher and the fact that those asked commented on his death without mention the he was a murderer.

Yes I was baiting since you quoted Rush. He is paid to entertain and create emotional responses. I guess if I agreed with his philosophy I would be defending him instead of trashing him.

That said I also admit I have not read a lot on their history. My limited knowledge was form watching the local news (I watch CBS), which did bring up the issue of violence against women.

However I do not know if he actually abused her (mentally/physically) or just snapped. Regardless they are both dead. I can also have sympathy for both parties involved. The guy may have been on drugs or ambien (which I know is still a drug, but more stealth). Still does not change that they are both dead.

I also had sympathies for the VPI shooter and the Columbine shooters (at least their families).

That said I do not think any gun control would have prevent him from buying a gun (Unlike VPI). If the statement was that we do not need more gun control because of this there would not be this backlash.

RE: NBC SNF commentator on anti gun rant.
That's exactly the point of all this. Costas and this other guy point blank stated that these two people would not be dead if he didn't have a gun. Unless they are omnipotent and have some way to prove this outrageous claim, everything else they stated has to be thrown out the window by anybody with a rational mind. Costas went on to say yesterday that his mistake was not having enough time to say everything he wanted to. I can promise had he had more time his remarks would have been more offensive to any rational person. He was doing nothing more than pushing progressive talking points and exploiting the murder of this woman to do so.
