The second. A previous incarnation of the WAC was the first.

Well, from a Tulsa fan's standpoint, it couldn't get any better than that.

Would be ideal (as long as UTEP is included).

RE: MWC
So if the Big East lose 4 teams... The Big East will grab 4 from C-USA, C-USA will then grab 5 from the belt... then all teams would have changed conferences and this will be over right?

This will PROBABLY be accurate when the teams that moved to the Big Least realise that there will not be a large TV contract like they counted on. Cross country flights are expensive for all of the Western teams WITHOUT the TV bucks to soften the blow.

That might be true for SD State and Boise; less so for Houston and SMU. I would think Tulsa is trying to get into the BE, which as sort of an old C-USA, is easier on the wallets than the MWC (and you have to figure the BE is going to expand again). They should also work on making sure that USM is carved into C-USA west.

If this happens it will absolutely kick ass. I hope they find a way to bring USM along.

That's 5 schools to a 10 team conference which = 15. One more needed.

Tulsa would still have to fly everywhere except Dallas in this scenario. The nBe is not going to get the same TV money they were planning on, but the will still make more than the MWC.

I hope so too. I don't care if ESPN electroplates our stadium in gold... I don't want anything to do with CUSA any more.

The flight from Tulsa to Denver is an hour and half.

Same goes for UNM and UTEP.

Its not like things are changing that much. The Killer for the WAC was Hawaii and they are a football only member.
