I wasn't saying it was or wasn't a big deal. A lot of people want "left behind" fans to share their enthusiasm for the new CUSA, though, and I just don't see that happening, and the reason is a lack of respectability in football. It's nothing personal... I'm sure your school is smarter than us, richer than us, and has a better reputation. I just do not see how or why we would ever play in football, or how such a thing could be good for USM.

Even though I want to see Tulsa move on, it sucks to leave our conference brothers behind. C-USA has been a great home and I hate that it's every team for itself, clawing to survive. I hope there's going to be happy resolutions for Marshall, USM, UAB and Rice.

Also, the only possible reason for adding BSU (to keep AQ status) turned out to be bogus. So I think the BSU model of getting into a better conference is dead.

was never talking about the big east decison to add boise where did that come from who cares why they did it boise did not need to go there to have success they have did it in the past in a worse conf the wac

RE: Future CUSA
What all our schools in what we used to call non AQ conferences which now includes the Big East (speaking of which)...............no matter what they are spinning now as they all have to wonder how long that league will actually remain solvent while concerning themselves with many questions. One such question is will this coast-to-coast conference be budget-worthy for all the coast to coast traveling all its men AND women varsity sports will have to do adding another question which will always be a dark cloud overhead and that question being.... "what will the present B.E. basketball-only schools decide to do? Still, we should all realize that the Big Boy conferences & its schools look at all of us no matter our conference as nothing but country cuzzins.

Some of our country cuzzins' group really had it going on at some point in their past NCAA FBS level history but have still been relegated to "country cuzzin" status because most of that group were mostly black-balled from joining the Big Boy conferences, a la the SWC implosion which (now) ended up having 5 of its schools joining the Big 12. Many of those not invited to the Big 12 or other Big Boy conferences are the group that fights this "country cuzzin" desigination or status the most. Still their main problem now is that the Big Boy conferences are pretty well set for awhile as far as future expansions are concerned and if they do, will probably expand by cherry picking among their own, ie, the Big Boy Conferences.

Probably the modus operendi that many of the non AQ schools should adopt is the "bloom where planted" M.O., but that will still be most difficult for the ones who fuss the most as to where they are presently planted with most all of their main themes still being all about "wanting to be somewhere else where they ain't."

Fair enough.

When alot of schools have moved up the same thing was probably said about them. U Conn, Boise St., S Florida etc give teams a shot to show what they can do before bashing them

Not true; I fully expect for there to be new UCFs and USFs, i.e. schools that come out of FCS and quickly surpass USM. Marshall won't be one (sorry), but any of the incoming Florida or Texas schools could be.

Fair enough, but keep in mind that the rest of us don't give a rats ass that you went 0-12, are broke and didn't get called up. Your bad mood doesn't affect my day.

Agree. I think that for Rice, we may still hold out (very) slim hopes that a decimated ACC wants us for our Academics and the Houston market. Otherwise, we probably land (as the last guy picked for the team) opposite of UH in either the new Big East or MWC. It is looking like lights out here in C-USA.

Pretty good post.

I don't speak for all Miner fans but I do want UTEP to go to the MWC, not because we suddenly would become super in football. Because we have a lot of old familiar rivals, or if not rivals then at least some history with those schools. It will, if it happens, feel like a good, natural fit for us. If UTEP stays in C-USA I think it will be fine but it will take a number of years for us to feel at home. The best think about the C-USA divisions would be still having Rice and Tulsa with us. If one or both leave then we will feel more like a newcomer. While I think its good to be in a conference with the Texas teams coming into the conference, it is disappointing to see SMU and Houston and now maybe Tulsa, leaving. Nothing against any of the new schools because I see some real good opportunities ahead for C-USA, if it stays together.

So yes, I do want UTEP to go to the MWC, hopefully with a couple others from C-USA west, like Rice and Tulsa or other Texas teams.

ECU fans...maybe you didnt read the BE manual that we gave you when you were admitted, however, it says very largely on the outside "Don't Panic." But inside it also says "Don't talk **** about your old conference on their own board because it makes you look like a DeltaBravo and an *******."

RE: Future CUSA/SBN/MW/nnBE, etc.
Reading from any of the CSNbbs for any changing conference, they all read the same: Those left behind complain and those getting in excited. At this point you will either enjoy watching your team play or not and if you don't think you'll like what you'll see "go find something else to do!". The reason they play the games is because it doesn't matter if your school has been FBS for 6 months or 20 yrs, there is that chance to beat the team that should beat you.

"This... you don't deserve to be here" and "my school is more worthy than your school" is petty and booring. There are more changes coming, until the big boys are satisfied, no one knows how the landscape will look. Conferences will find schools to fill holes as long as there are candidates that can afford to move up. :drunk2::drunk2:

And yes CUSA is being used as a steping stone, and todays "crappy school", may kicks your ass and move on. Me, whoever is in this conference come fall.... I want to beat their *** newbee or not.
