RE: LaTech President Statement
In the end it doesn't matter whether VDV couldn't predict NIU crashing the BCS, as the Liberty Bowl Exec promised he'd take Tech "regardless of who was available".

RE: LaTech President Statement
-It was more clear that the MAC champ was going to play than people are saying if you look who was in front of them and account for the computer points jump by playing (and beating) a one-loss team. As I said, it wasn't certain....but he should have known there was a good enough chance that it wasn't worth the gamble--high risk, low reward (all that to play Purdue?). What is the difference in bowl payouts?

I agree. He should have known there was a chance... and a pretty good chance too.

It wasn't about the money, it was about playing in Dallas vs Shreveport, against Big 10 vs Sun Belt, New Years Day vs Dec 28. But when the Liberty Bowl guaranteed him a spot regardless of what happened with the BCS, it didn't matter what happened with NIU at that point.

It was a bad situation, I understand his reasoning, it's over, and I think everyone has moved on.

If its over do you think they will let the Tech board, Latechbbb.com, back on line? They sure have kept a lot of this dirty laundry off the boards by shutting it down a few days ago when this situation blew up.

I get in by Googling Latechbbb. When it comes up, click on one of the options like "The Blond Bomber" or something. I don't know what the problem with the main link is, but it's still very active. Enjoy.
