Losses to Hofstra and South Dakota St. will do that to you. Very disappointing year so far.

I prefer to use the live-rpi.com stats because it includes our win over Davidson, now. That puts us at #37!

I will miss MTSU in basketball. perennial Bracket Buster.
In C-USA ya'll could be yearly players, even at large.

1.) its stupid to look at RPI this early in the year. Changes dramatically as the season goes on. I.E.- UK is ranked in the 100's in most RPI's. Though i'd love for that to be the case come March for a number of reasons...
2.) what does ODU have to do with helping CUSA be a 2+ bid in CUSA this year?

*As I posted in a thread earlier, yes it is way too early to cry about RPI.
*I don't think he was referring to just this year and obviously I wasn't. The future C-USA needs a strong ODU program if we are to get 2 bids each year.

#46 SMU 7-1
#65 UCF 3-2
#100 ECU 3-1
#103 USM 6-2
#137 UAB 3-4
#152 Memphis 4-2
#167 Tulane 6-2
#172 Tulsa 3-3
#188 UTEP 2-4
#190 Houston 5-2
#233 Marshall 4-3
#308 Rice 1-4

What a big change for SMU. They were a regular #200+ RPI team. ECU has a pretty good RPI compared to the past. Memphis and Marshall are a little surprising on the negative side.

RE: Early look at CUSA Hoops RPI and overall records
of course not now. We don't know how strong any conference is yet. Though obviously for some majors we have a good clue. and obviously there are several minors who we know will only send their conference champ.

In my defense, C-USA has had several 2-bid seasons as of late and Memphis will be a great loss.

Look seriously at Western Kentucky. as a lifelong fan of a team in the Belt. taking WKU would really hurt us on the basketball side.
I doubt MTSU will disappoint either.

Don't look for Tulsa to be a player in basketball this year and possibly next year either. With the firing, transfers and now injuries all this season so far. Tulsa may wind with only 7 or 8 players that are healthy and can play. 03-banghead

SMU hasn't really played anybody, I guess they finish in the 100s
UCF will probably stay in contention
ECU we'll be in the top 100 this year as we play a tough OOC from here on out and most of the anchors are in the west (we play them only once)
USM should rise
UAB not sure yet
Memphis will rise once they get in conference and gathers more wins
Tulane not sure yet
Tulsa not sure yet
UTEP will fall
Houston likely rise
Marshall hopefully rise
Rice waiting for Baseball

Memphis jumped up about 50 spots last night. They had a VERY impressive win over an Ohio team which returned 4 starters from last season's Sweet 16 team. Had Pastner not called off the dogs towards the end, Memphis would have won by 40-50 points.

Um...what? Before last season we've been varying stages of mediocre for decades.
