It wasn't a secret meeting. Commissioner Aresco was there to answer questions.

Actually this guy severely misrepresented the meeting per a tweet from Thamel of SI this meeting was not secret and Aresco was present.

Big East BB schools meeting in NYC today wasn't secret. Commissioner Mike Aresco was there to answer questions, discuss future.

So basically the hoops league would be Memphis, Tulane, Houston, SMU, UCF, Maybe ECU will get included now... If Cincy and UConn hang around you still talking about a 3 bid league most years.

The big east will never die, no matter who leaves or who is added. So get used to it folks.

Cincy & UCONN won't be around very long. ACC will come from them probably in a few months if not sooner

Basketball schools need the football ones and vice versa. Both parties would be losing millions for separating. I don't blame them at all for looking at all their options, but let's not take this report and go crazy with the doom and gloom. It's so incredibly unrealistic for them to break-off right now.

RT @McMurphyESPN: Big East source: "Basketball schools not thrilled w/Tulane & what they will do to lRPI. They would have fallen off ledge if we added ECU"

RT @McMurphyESPN: If Big East gets $80M TV deal, hoop schools would get less $ than currently do RT @AlexOPunk: @McMurphyESPN @espn do they not like money?

This doesn't look good for the stability of the conference.

Interesting, because all the indications until now are that the basketball schools are the ones that suggested Tulane in the first place.

Of course, I didn't believe that to begin with.

So, is this the final step before the Big East raids the ACC and the Big 12?
