tier 3 right's
I have been reading on here that ESPN is buying ACC team's tier 3 right's. What are they paying per year and is it the same for each team ?

They're not buying the rights because they already own them. They are paying certain school to make some events ESPN3 exclusives. Which is good because many of these events would have been unbroadcast other wise.

From this article it almost sounds like ESPN is paying the schools to produce the tier 3 games which ESPN already owns the rights to... more like a sub-contractor deal

RE: tier 3 right's
On the conference expansion board they were talking about ESPN and the ACC being in talks of creating an ESPNACC that would be on the same tier as ESPNU and ESPNNews across the country. If that were true I'd think we'd see a big contract boost. Could really bring exposure to olympic sports too because with the recent additions the ACC has become the the premiere Baseball/Soccer conference in the nation. Something they could market and build over time into a HUGE money maker I'd think.

The ACC excels in many non-revenue sports like women's basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, and women's lacrosse which are all good sports for TV.

Looking at the current AP poll for women's basketball...
