I regret the destruction of the Big East, but not leaving it now that is has been utterly sacked. The vultures are picking it clean now.

RE: Pitt/UL/Cuse fans
In fairness, I don't think Aresco did anything wrong. He could not do anything to stop the losses of notre dame, Rutgers, or Louisville. He fact that he managed to keep the conference alive 12 hours after the Louisville announcement was a modern miracle. But you literally had only one original BE football member as of the start of the BCS in Temple remaining, a team who was actually kicked out. There was no chance of survival.

Actually I would like to nominate quo vadis to come back and post here. He was the only USF fan that understood what the reality was...I have his personal contact info and can reach out to him. Mods: what do you think?

I personally would not mind Quo over here. But I think some mods are a little ticked that he started posting under other alias's after he was banned from over there.

Well I think he was unfairly banned for his opinions need being the party line.

There's truth to that. However, things were getting very heated over there because the mob mentality. Then the whole multi alias thing ticked us off. Personally, I'd be ok with Quo returning.

I hear you...but it was pretty bad having some "johnnie come latelys" over there bashing him for his non standard BE Opinion. He spoke a lot of truth...and as far as I remember didn't insult (unless maybe responding to a flame). Let me know and I'll reach out to him.

I'm glad that you admit that Brista, because I felt that he should have been given a chance as well. I'll talk to Clairton and EnterSandman and NDLutz and get their views.

Quo was definitely unfairly banned, no doubt about it. Not a mod, but I actually enjoyed debating with him.

I'm a mod over there, and don't even want to hang out on that board anymore.

Is that board reminding you of the old C-USA board on KillerFrogs when the **** went down in '04 yet?

Without a doubt.

I'm not ok with bringing quo aka steve back. He was given countless warnings, forum bans, and weekly/monthly bans. If he wouldn't have created so many alias's he would be here today. In fact he was banned last night posing as a Memphis fan. He's not here today due to actions of his own. I liked the dude up until he pulled the sh*t that he did.

No not really, what i remember about the last days of Killerfrogs was a lot of Louisville posters getting alot crap about leaving.

And the same Louisville posters pointing and laughing at Southern Piss fans as we went out the door. (That was some good times.)

Not so much "Southern Miss Fans"...just Yune...

I remember more than just Yune back then. (But that guy did fell like more than one person.)

Isn't it amazing how big the gap is now between UofL and S. Miss since those KillerFrog days.

(12-13-2012 04:40 AM)nzmorange Wrote:  I don't dare post this in the nBE board (it would start a riot and I don't want to flame THAT fire), but do any of the old BIG EAST fans think it's funny that (almost literally) all the nBE fans (esp. those of schools that haven't joined the BIG EAST yet) are now complaining about the basketball schools "having too much power?" We found a way to make it work for over 30 years, and over 20 while playing in-conference football. Apparently they can't find a way to make it work long enough to even get into the conference!

the only reason the hybrid worked was the football schools had some pretty good basketball or basketball tradition (save south florida). i really believe the basketball schools would have approved grand valley state or slippery rock if theyhad plus bbasketball. out of all the new teams brought in, who has the basketball clout the old guard would find acceptable? I only see two in Memphis and temple. Everylother all sports school bring absolutely nothing to the table I truly believe that Tulane was the last straw. at the time of the vote 9 out of the 16 all sports schools had been a member of the same conference as Tulane in the last 10 years. And Tulane for all sports but ecu for only football was insane. clearlythe wwriting was on the wall when teams that brought nothing to basketball were being added left andrright. I'm surprised they lasted this long.

I'm glad louisville got out because the big east of 2004 is not the big east it was a week ago. I and just about every other louisville fan see the big conference usa as a joke amalgamation of cusa plus uconn. it's nothing I can't see very many networks taken seriously when it comes to a media deal.

I would also bring back quo. seems like we were the only ones not drinking that sweet grape fla-vor-aid the big east was putting out. The only reasoniI wasn't banned was i don't post as frequently as he did.

I haven't posted on the BE board for a long time now. Even though a lot of the nBE posters have PM'd me that they wish me to continue posting over there, I have politely refused out of principle. I will continue to look forward to the future of Pitt athletics, and the future currently resides in the ACC.

Add another 4 on there I think and that's the one. He's now had lives as a fan of USF/GT/Temple/Memphis among others.
