Cuse Expected to Sell Out Pinstripe Bowl Allotment and More
Over 9,000 tix already sold through the official university website/box office. They are working on getting more tickets.

This is why I think it makes sense for the ACC to partner with the Pinstripe Bowl. It turns northern teams into good traveling fan bases.

Agreed, it's frustrating that southern schools always make fun of northern teams for poor traveling fan bases but the truth is it's a lot easier for these schools to drive four or five hours to get to a bowl game than it is for schools in the north who almost always have to fly somewhere. Pitt will get made fun of because there will probably be 1,000 people at the Compass bowl in Birmingham but if they were playing in the Pinstripe against WVU, I am certain Pitt would have sold out their allotment as well.

This is A great point. The ACC needs to add two more bowl games, because it added three football team's. It will add more Cash for the League bowl payout's.

What all Bowl's are tied to the ACC ?

Syracuse Make sure you beat them eeeerss.

Ole Miss just went over 20,000 tix sold. The vast majority of their fan base is within a 3-4 hour drive of Birmingham...they can drive over and back the same day or spend one night in a hotel...a lot cheaper than Pitt who has an 11 hour drive or an expensive flight going to the same bowl for the 3rd year.

If the BIG EAST self-destructs, does the Pinstripe Bowl become a free agent? (except for the Big XII tie-in of course)

I think the contract is over after next year...I think the BE lingers on for one more year...one more BCS check, too much chaos to muddle through, legal work and UMD, Rutgirls in limbo.

The Pinstripe Bowl will certainly go after the ACC/B1G the next round.

Not bad for a basketball school who nobody in NYC cares about.

Rough order of selection for 2013-14. The order could change starting in 2014-15 as bowl contracts will begin to get renegotiated this year.

BCS/Orange
Chick-Fil-A vs. SEC #5
Russell Athletic vs. Big East #2
Belk vs. Big East #3
Sun vs. Pac-12 #4
Music City vs. SEC #7
Independence vs. SEC #10
Military vs. C-USA

I don't know if any bowl games are looking to shift to another conference for one year. The only bowl game that lost a tie-in was the Boise bowl game. With the WAC no longer sponsoring football, the game is tied to the MWC for 2013 only.

Good news: next year the Orange Bowl gets FIRST CHOICE of opponents! So I expect a really good game, and the ACC teams vying for that slot need to put on a good show.
