Beef O'Brady's Bowl
Great win for UCF but what is going on with the field? Was it wet?

RE: Beef O'Brady's Bowl
I think it may have more to do with the parts of the field that has sand/dirt underneath the turf. Some parts of the field retained the moisture from the sprinkler system better than others.

Having the game in the baseball stadium, it actually works really well. But you need to pack the place...Our student population could easily fill the Trop, and we didn't. :(

We did our part. Announced attendance was 22k, and that was easily 14k UCF fans.

True. I was actually shrugging off their announced attendance...but I heard how loud the students were. You guys had a ton of people below us, I guess it didn't matter if I saw the numbers: hearing is believing. 04-cheers

I was hooking up my new tv and the first thing that I watched was the BOB Bowl. I thought I'd had screwed something up the way the field was looking.

I'm pretty sure Marshall traveled more to that bowl game than UCF did.

The UCF/BSU St pete bowl had about 1700 more in attendance than the FIU/Marshall St Pete bowl, but I don't know the breakdown of fans for each team. I doubt Ball State brought more fans that FIU tho, given the short drive for FIU fans.

I'd be overjoyed for Memphis to be in any bowl right now, but doesn't that bowl need to be in a better venue before tons of fans attend the game?

I am very forgiving to any bowl game scheduled before Christmas. These are made-for-television events. The bowls are not fan events.

It was a pitiful turnout. I'm surprised UCF fans didn't show. Ball State is too far away to bring any fans. I hope the bowl survives.

Pretty sure it was the worst attended bowl last year and on track for the same dubious distinction this year as well. Kind of surprising from the perspective that a Florida school was in both bowls.

Why should you care? Little Miami had barely over 8,000 show up for one of your Homecoming games. That was even when your Big Man on Campus Mr. Cop a feel Roethlisberger was coming to town.

Even if you sold out Beef bowl you only have around 25k. It will always be low crowd leader. It is good for what it is good for. A bottom rung bowl, at a good location city wise.

The announced crowd was close to 38k in 2009 if I remember correctly and was a record for that bowl. If Ball State had 3-4k it would have been more respectable.

i went to that bowl in 2008 (it was the magicjack bowl then). i absolutely loved st pete but that stadium is marginal for MLB at best and totally ridiculous for college football.
